"Very unreliable"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I recently purchased a Town and Country LXI. During the test drive the van drove smoothly with no problems. I did notice that while idling and talking to the salesperson the van died out. I was told that it needed a tune-up. The day after I bought the van I've had major problems with intermittent stalling. It's been in two different repair shops and they've had the van longer than I have.

I went on-line and did some research on Chrysler vans and have found that it is a common problem. It this is a reoccurring problem, Chrysler should not be putting out these lemons and I've been told by both mechanics that they see this type of problem all the time.

I am so frustrated and stressed out as I work over 15 miles from home. I don't blame the car dealership as the problem obviously was there long before they got the van.

I feel Chrysler should recall the lemons that they put out and figure out how to manufacture something that actually works.

I am far from disgusted and will never purchase another Chrysler product. I will also encourage everyone I know to look into the foreign model vans instead.

General comments?

My 1996 T&C with the 3.8 engine has had problems with the left rear door lock not working, the fan control switch working on two speeds, It has 127,000 miles on it and it is on the 4th transmission and it is setting in my yard now with the 5th one not working. It was a new Chyrsler rebuilt Transmission and has 27000 miles on it. This van was one of the first T&C with the 3.8 engine and Chyrsler only used this transmission a few months until they changed it. I feel sure they new it was to light for the engine.
