1990 Citroen BX 14TRE review from Sweden
What things have gone wrong with the car?
100.000-130.000 km: (when I have owned it)
Alternator, rear suspension bearings (it's common for them to wear out for a car which has been covering this distance, especially if it has a hook), window washer pump worn out.
Some rust, but no car can stand the climate here in Sweden anyway. Must cars don't wear out, they corrode away..
General comments?
Cheap to buy and drive, fuel consumption is approx. 6.5litres/100km. I guess you can thank the weight (920kg) and the small engine (1.4 litres, 72bhp) for that.
The ability to raise the hydropneumatic suspension height is great when using it on bad roads where many cars would be stuck hanging on the grass in the middle.
