Clutch went after a week.
Window switch had to be replaced.
Had to change the ECU.
Other than the normal things: tyres etc, everything has been fine.
A very nice car. Fast as a fast thing, but I find you have to keep the revs up. Brakes that would put you through the windscreen. Sticks to the road like glue. Leaves a lot BMW drivers looking gob-smacked. Overall one of the best cars I've driven with amazing power, I would advise anyone with a budget looking for a sports car which can carry 5 people in the upmost of comfort to buy one.
Blockhead making previous comment obviously ain't driven one...136mph isn't for senile over 80 matey.
To the above poster.
Go to www.bx16v.com Tell us on there about your 120mph. You'll be laughed off the planet. Standard 150,000mile cars will still do 135mph and accelerate 0-60 in 7.2 sec, that faster than a BMW328. Mine with a few mods will do 7000rpm in 5th on the flat, that is 140mph true speed, any more and I hit the rev limiter. We have one member who races one in Classic Touring cars very successfully, and others attend track days, where they DO whoop some very fast cars.`

Thanks, but no thanks, to dangerous driving these things above 60 MPH.

I have owned 5 BX Gti 8v's in recent years with no major problems with any of them, I now own a 16v which has just recorded 0-60 in 7.6s & a standing 1/4 in 15.7s! The claim of 120mph top speed is less than I've had in my 8v's. The 16v's speedo goes upto 140mph & I have had it off the top without even hitting the limiter.
None of the BX's have ever been rone to rust and yu'd be hard pressed to find one with any welding done. The "plastic" panels were to reduce weight and the BX is still one of the most aerodynamic car aroud.
So, as mentioned before, you shouldn't quote on a car you know nothing about. No doubt you drive a Fiesta and are just jealous of "Real" cars.
I urge you to accept the invitation to www.bx16v.com/forum and see for yourself!!!
