Summary:

I will have it till I can't get parts

Faults:

My A/C went bad at around 100,000 miles.

Windows are very slow and the wipers also.

Had to change the water pump a couple of times.

General Comments:

Even after all this, it's a great second car and very reliable as well as gas economy savings.

It's not a Sunday car, but to go around to work and personal things, it's great.

It has a small oil leak, but for the miles and mileage, and so many drivers, imagine me, my wife, my daughter and son, what can you expect. And the roads and hills in Porto Rico are also there.

Summary:

Reliable car

Faults:

At 180000 KM the light check engine is on. The car runs so I ignore it.

I changed the water pump 3 times because of its leaking.

3 times disc brakes were changed, and 5 times the brake pads.

One time I change the muffler with an aftermarket in ox to avoid frequent changes.

3 times springs and shock absorbers were changed.

Today I have I little leak from the head gasket.

2 of my door knobs are broken (behind), the light of the trunk doesn't work, the headlights turned from white to yellow, and my left mirror is off.

General Comments:

I have had the car almost 11 years, the engine is still running (335.000), the interior is in good shape, and the spare parts are easy to find.

In general the car is good, but it has no power (only 75ps).

Summary:

Cheap, reliable car

Faults:

Car was crashed totally three times and engine still running fine until today. Engine reliability is superb.

Front left suspension started to rattle.

Exhaust pipes are terrible. They rusted out every two years, they are not expensive though.

General Comments:

Car is generally reliable, cheap and non-attractive car. Engine is reliable. Parts are cheap.

It doesn't look spectacular, fuel consumption is pretty high.

Cabin is roomy, back seat is roomy, trunk is roomy.

It should have stronger engine for 1.2 ton car.

Summary:

Good cheap car

Faults:

Reversing light switch has packed in.

Engine sounds a bit noisy on its tappets.

Screws where the parcel shelf attaches to the back window have come undone and gone missing.

Drivers window motor is noisy at times.

General Comments:

Brought this car as a stopgap for my sister after she had an accident in her Clio.

Driving it home from her paying for it, it's very quick.

And for £1100, for a car with power windows and mirror and air con, it isn't too bad.

Also my sister managed to drive it about 5,000 miles without any oil in the engine, and it still carried on going.

Reliable, cheap runabout

Faults:

Replaced the clutch - it had just worn out.

General Comments:

This car is excellent at doing what it's meant to do - be a reliable, cheap to maintain runabout.

It hasn't given me any problems; great on fuel and easy to park.

The interior is bland, but what do you expect?

Summary:

Daewoos are a great car

Faults:

This car has been great since I got it. No problems at all.

The last Daewoo I had I loved, but the oil pump and auto gear box both packed in on the same day. But I still love daewoos even though that happened to my last one.

I don't think it is a common fault with them, was just bad luck.

General Comments:

This car is a very smooth ride, but can be a bit heavy on petrol on short runs.

It all looks good inside the cabin, but the seats are a bit hard.

It also has some speed on the motorway and is very fast off the mark.

General Comments:

Serious problems with this car, slow and noisy, with lots of problems. Only good quality is its fuel economy, avoid at all costs.
