1999 Dodge Durango SLT review from North America

I've had my Durango for about a year. About a month ago, it started dying on me. I was in a drive-thru line on my way to work and it completely turned off. It would turn over, but wouldn't stay on.

I had it towed to mechanic. He said he couldn't get a read, so he put a fuse back in that I had to remove for the radio to work! It died again a week later. I had it towed to him once again. He drove it for a couple of days, and didn't experience any problems, except for the AC. He wanted to replace the AC compressor. I told him to hold off because it just didn't sound right.

The next time it stalled was at a red light, but it turned back on. Later that day it died at a left turning lane and would not come back on. I took it to a mechanic that a friend was very confident in. He knew it was the ECM and said it's a common problem with Dodges. I am finally getting it back today. Total cost will be about 775.

Glad I found this site, and saw that I'm not being ripped-off and this is common.
