Dude, the 97 Civic VTEC was only 125 HP. What do you expect? I admit these cars as fast as hell, but they are also high maintenance with their cheap ass diamond star motors engines. I have heard from people who own these cars, to avoid them unless I want empty pockets.

Yeh, I'm Mike, I'm an owner of a 93'Talon TSi AWD and there was 45000 k's when I bought, and there's 117/k's right now. Runs better then my girlfriend. Yes you're right, it's a chick magnet, and I'm single guy so a lot of chicks come and go! It's red and black, but needs nice rims and more speed. My sound system is unreal, you can hear me for like 6 blocks away. Nice to see your site and the interested guys in Talons.

I was just wondering, I'm looking at a 94' Eagle Talon, and I was wondering what kind of motor it has in it. (NAME) If anyone can tell me the ups and downs of this car, please e-mail me @ kmcintire@amerisure.com. Thanks.

How on earth could you fit a nice sound system in the car without removing the spare tire or the back seat?

7th Feb 2002, 15:41

I put two 15" MTX Thunder 8000's in the back of an Eagle Talon without removing the backseats or the spare tire... also it was a ported box and I fitted it in there with 2.75 cu ft per sub. I was running an Alpine MRV T 757 V12 at the time and hit 148.6 dbs. If you're interested in getting the dimensions of the box, drop me a line at wrathenfoof@yahoo.com, I'd be more than happy to tell you how to bump one of those out real hard... yeah... you could hear mine from about a half mile.

I have a 95 Eagle Talon TSI AWD, and I recently was driving down the highway and over heated my car because it had no coolant. I was wondering if anyone else happened to do this to their talon? If so what were the things that needed fixed? Someone told me that I needed a new motor and someone else told me that I should just get a new head gasket and fix the top half of my motor.

I was thinking about buying 95 Eagle Talon. I was wondering how reliable these cars are and what kind of gas mileage they get. Also, I was wondering how well they handle in the snow and ice. If anyone could give me any advice about this car, I'd really appreciate it. You can e-mail me at ChipperCP123@aol.com. Thanks! :)

I bought a 94 talon just yesterday, and the same day I got it the transmission went out on it. But it is a VERY fast car.

I have a 94 Talon, and I love it to death. My engine my engine just blew up with 130,000 miles on it. I love my car so much I'm ordering a new engine from Japan so I can still have my car. I don't know about the chick magnet thing, because I'm a chick. If you're thinking about buying a Talon a strongly suggest it.

There is a lot going on under the hood, and if you don't know how to deal with that you'll have problems. If you beat on it (and that IS the fun part) you will have problems eventually too. If you buy a lemon, or one that's been beaten on it's whole life, you will have problems. Other than that, I love my 1990 Talon TSi AWD!

I recently bought a '95 Eagle Talon from an auction. I had it three months. It had 113,000 miles on it. It stopped on me in my driveway. My mechanic told me it was my head gasket and all my valves needed replacing. I replaced them. Then, it was my belt needing replacement. I replaced it. Now, four months and $1000 later, I need a motor. I LOVE the car, but the price for keeping it up is getting too expensive. I only paid $3000 for it. I am about to put $3000 into it. I could have used that $3000 as a down payment on a new one. The only good thing coming out of all this is I have a car paid for. The question now is FOR HOW LONG?

I just bought my 94 Talon AWD TSi from a buddy of mine a few weeks ago, and it's the best coupe I've ever had. Except for a Subaru WRX and a new Corvette, I've managed to beat a new Mustang GT, a Camaro SS, and a Hyundai Tiburon off the line. It helps with a brand new turbo back exhaust, cold-air intake and an ECU chip!!! Even with all that, my car still looks stock!! I absolutely love being the "sleeper" in races!!!

Yea I have a 97 Eagle Talon ESI, that I've had for 3 years now, about 130,000 miles. When I bought it used, it ended up being around $8,000. The worth of that piece of junk now is about $1000. The brakes have gone completely out 3x's, I've had to get new struts on all wheels 2x, have had oil leaks, bad battery sulfur buildup several times, the alignment had gotten knocked out nearly 4x just by hitting mediocre potholes at low speeds and much more.. maybe I'm the only one who has gotten problems with their Talon like this, I don't know... and although my Talon is such an appealing, good looking car... it's just not worth all this work anymore. Don't mistake it for its looks.. yes it has ground effects, rims, wing, tinted out, hyper whites, neons, exhaust, intake, and the 2 12's with 1200 watt direct amp. BUT It is literally in the shop every 3 months for some problem or another. I can't wait to get rid of it... anyone want to buy it? HA.

I just bought a 94 Talon 2.0 dohc. It has over 100,000 miles on it.Here's my prob. It has a lot of top end engine noise and little oil pressure at idle. Any ideas?Donnie litfoot67@yahoo.com.

Hey everyone, I'm in the market for a new car at the moment. I love the look of the sporty eagle talons and my uncles buddy is willing to sell me his 94 (99,000 k) for 4,000 dollars. I will never in my life race this thing, but I just love the look and think I'd have a lot of fun in it! I'd love some comments about this car if anyone has the time-don't wanna invest in something that might blow up in my face! Thanks so much, please e-mail at kalie86@hotmail.com.

Well. I have an eagle talon. 94. yup. constanly breaking down on me. the only thing cool about it is that you can pull all the seats down. and make it like a bed. you can fit 4 people, and still be comfortable when doing that. and umm. what else is cool... well, it's got furry seats. totally awesome. hah. and I'm gona get it painted. that's all.

I have a 95 Eagle Talon. What a beauty! I recently blew my engine - had a coolant leak and all of a sudden, no pop, no tick, no high temperature warning... it quit on me on the freeway. I've been told different things (new engine, new head, etc.) and can't get my husband to fix it because he can't decide what needs done. Anyone have suggestions OR, anyone changing their non-turbo to a turbo? Want to sell me your non-turbo engine? I don't need speed, I just love the looks on people's faces when they see a girl driving this beauty. I'd love to get this thing back on the road.. yep, it's a chick magnet too ;)

I haven't found a 1994 with less than that, but I did just pick up a 95 with just under 43 000 clicks on it... runs great an there awesome cars... anyone else have overheating issues because it seems that every other one I see ends up with a scored crank and spun bearings.

Hey I'm about to turn 16 and am looking into a talon. I've found a 94 DL for 1500. I know the 1.8L isn't much, but is there any thing I could do to make this as fast as it looks.

Also is this a good deal/price/ idea.

Email me at mustangqb278@aol.com with any info/ opinions

thanks.

The 1.8 Talon only puts out 96hp, but it's way more reliable than the 2.0s. I own a 94 Eagle Talon ES 1.8, and the only problem I've ever had was a cracked radiator, and I've had the car for 3 years.
