1996 Fiat Brava S review from UK and Ireland
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I bought this car second hand (1 year old, 34,000 miles on clock). After 3 months the car was showing symptoms of a worn cluch. The dealer agreed to pay half the bill (£150) for replacement as I did not have the car for long, fine! When the gearbox had been taken out of the car they realised it was not the cluch but in fact it was the gearbox. I was given an estimate of £1,200 plus and they were, as before only prepared to pay £150. They suggested sending the Gearbox to an expert to see if it could be repaired. However if it could not be repaired then I would have to foot the bill for that on top of a new one.
General comments?
I can't really coment on FIAT, but as for the garage that I bought the car from (Arnold Clark, Dunfermline, Fife) - What a really C@$P service. Whether or not I buy a Fiat again, it will not be from them!!!
