2 Power Windows needing repair (Will be fixed very soon), drivers door panel & armrest cracking (Repaired), headlights discoloring (Repaired). All are common problems with this model. Mechanically, a very solid car.
Car has been in family since early 1996, bought by parents with about 6,500 miles. I bought it from them last year when parents bought new Grand Marquis. For a newer car, it's rather nice, and it runs very well. I think it should last another 10 years easily.
I too have a 96 P73 Vic.. (might I add an excellent car)..but what does P73 or P71 actually mean?
I'm 17 and take this car too high school everyday. ooh man I love driving it next to the import rockets haha. I feel as if I can push them off the road. This car is cool for old AND young people, and with a 281 4.6L police engine with 265 torque (which is quick at any RPM's), its got plenty of power to blow the imports away. I get around 14 mpg and paying for gas is expensive... but definitely worth every penny.
I can't remember off the top of my head I think p73 is crown victoria base model and the p74 is the crown victoria lx if you want to know about this go to www.crownvic.net.
Watkd.
