2007 Ford Five Hundred Limited 3.0 Duratec from North America

Summary:

Very happy with this vehicle

Faults:

Rear brakes, and front headlights cracked from the inside.

General Comments:

I have owned a lot of cars, and the Ford 500 is at the top of my list. It is a great family car, with safety kept in mind.

Yeah - it could use some more horsepower, but it goes if needed.

I have taken long trips in this vehicle with the family, and I feel pretty good after driving 712 miles in one day.

The trunk space is out of this world. Seems like there is more room for luggage in the 500 than there was in my Trailblazer.

Anyone that is thinking about buying a used 500, go for it!!!

2007 Ford Five Hundred sel 6 cylinder from North America

Summary:

I liked my taurus wagon better

Faults:

Had to have rear brakes replaced at 9,000 miles, told service advisors of excessive brake dust. It still has excessive, horrible, this is my 5th Ford, and probably my last.

General Comments:

Very roomy in the back, I have tall kids, pretty basic car for the amount paid.

2005 Ford Five Hundred SE AWD 6 cylinder from North America

Summary:

An affordably comfortable car

Faults:

Rear brake pads/ rotors were serviced as part of a recall at 63,000 miles.

Front brake pads/ rotors were serviced at 68,000 miles at a cost of $225.

General Comments:

For the money this automobile is the best value I have ever experienced in a vehicle in over 30 years of driving.

The on demand all wheel drive has saved me on many occasions over the last three winters.

I find a consistent tracking of 27 mpg during normal weather conditions.

There is a tremendous amount of cargo/ trunk space in this vehicle.

The cabin is considerable in it's head and leg room and the seats are relaxing.

I like the 17 inch wheels as I feel as though I have a more commanding view of the road ahead.

The styling may be considered a bit "stodgy" by some but the safety features alone make this car very practical for a family person.

In short, I have used this car for my four day/ week (each way) 63 mile commute and I have found it to be a most substantial car for the money.

2006 Ford Five Hundred SEL from North America

Summary:

We are very pleased with this car. No foreign car for us/ buy American

Faults:

20000 miles; traction control light would come on periodically; Replaced sensor under warranty.

32000 miles; rear brakes were replaced via warranty.

General Comments:

Vehicle runs very well.

Vehicle seems a tad under powered when pushing it.

Added power is not needed for pick up speed, but I suspect it would use less gas if powered a bit more.

Extremely safe driving in snow, ice and rain: (God knows WI had its share of snow this year). We feel very safe in this car.

The car is very comfortable and love the shifting in the automatic transmission.

AWD features really work well.

The car sits high; we don't hit our head trying to get into the car; 18" tires help.

The car looks good.

2005 Ford Five Hundred SEL V6 from North America

Summary:

A great car for the money

Faults:

So far nothing has gone wrong with the car, I live on a dirt road, and the only thing was the A/C drain got clogged with mud. The Dealership paid for all the repairs, even though the car had no warranty.

General Comments:

It's pleasure to drive. The gas mileage is outstanding! Took a trip shortly after I got the car, and drove 230 miles each way and filled up only twice, spent $90 on gas only, a lot less than what I was expecting to pay. The $16,000 I paid was worth it. The CVT 6 speed Auto Transmission is amazing. The pickup on this car is unreal. I love this car!!

2005 Ford Five Hundred SEL 3.0 liter V6 from North America

Summary:

A wonderful car - especially for the money

Faults:

Rear brake rotors warped - at 800 miles and 28,000 miles. Repaired under warranty.

Water pump leak - replaced under warranty at 33,500 miles.

Occasional, but rare hard shifting - revised shift software - repaired under warranty at 33,500 miles.

General Comments:

Love this car in spite of a few problems.

Warranty service has been excellent.

It is a big, safe, very comfortable car.

It gives great gas mileage for a large car - with 3.0 liter V-6 and 6 speed automatic transmission/ I get 27 -30 on the road with regular gas. On a 3000 mile trip in the spring of 2007, I averaged 30 mpg - typically at 70 mph with AC on. In a mix of town and fwy - 23 mpg.

MSRP was $24,765. I paid $19,765 + T&L. What a small amount to pay for a large car with all power features and dual climate control.

The 3.0 liter V-6 has adequate power for all driving conditions, including mountains.

I definitely would buy this car again (or next).

I am 62, wife is 54. We both love the car.

For power, fun, and excitement, I climb on my motorcycle. For comfort, security and safety, it is the 500.
