I have always believed you should consider vehicles within your budget and fits your needs. Cosmetics are just cosmetics. We too were not nuts about the styling, but now we love it and absolutely LOVE the vehicle. It's got good power, hauls people and stuff easily and gets decent gas mileage to boot; plus it doesn't look like every other car on the road!

Lots of things will grow on you. Look at the Prius, when they first came out I thought they were the ugliest thing on earth, and now it's no big deal. The first vehicle I thought of when I saw the Flex was an early 60's Chevy panel truck. Very boxy, yet cool look to it.

One of the best interiors in a car in a long time. Methinks Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo all had influence here.

The exterior is at odds with current trends. Its brother, the Lincoln MKT is a more contemporary version.

I find the Lincoln MKT hideous, and the Flex attractive.

Agree about the interior: I sat in a tan leather one; I've seen quite a few other tan interiors, none had such pleasant tan color as the Flex. It's just perfect. Of course, you have to like a tan interior.

Then the interior design is just great. I've seen Jaguars, S class Mercedes and modern Range Rovers. While those have luxury trims, the Flex just looks much better, which you might be shocked to hear. The dash plastic isn't even soft to the touch, but the material looks so great; I had to scratch it several times to make sure it's indeed hard.

The whole car interior feels spacious with 'balanced' lines. I didn't feel like that inside a Range Rover - which is actually bigger, or inside an S Class, and even a 7 series BMW felt more cramped. So I have to praise the interior design team who worked on the Flex: they have done a truly great job, something seen very rarely in the car industry.
