2007 Ford Fusion SE 2.3L I-4 from North America

Summary:

The Car That Will Save Ford

Faults:

Nothing, it's brand new.

General Comments:

I hope this is the car that will save Ford. I've had mine for just about a week now and have made two long distance trips already and it has been amazing. I ordered a red SE model with the sport appearance group so it has the 17inch wheels as opposed to the 16's, and red stitching in the seats. The car has a smooth ride, downright excellent handling, and good power and gas mileage. It is also exceptionally quiet and free of vibration which is unusual for a four cylinder car. The car is faster than my Mom's 06 explorer with the V-6 and still gets awesome gas mileage. My first 100 miles of pure stop and go city traffic yielded me 23mpg and when I got it on the highway traveling at speeds of 80-85mph, I was getting 29mpg. I cannot wait until the engine breaks in more so I can see what it can really do. The interior is well put together, but my single complaint is that headroom is lacking for those over six feet tall. The stock six speaker radio has more power than anything I have heard from the factory. I hope to put a few hundred more miles on it in the upcoming weeks and will keep an update as more miles are put on.

Welcome to the ownership circle of the BEST CAR MADE IN 2007!! This car leaves Honda and Toyota looking like neglected old maids. These cars are rolling off the dealers lots here as fast as they can get them in, and 80% of the trade-ins are the poorly made Camrys. Just look thru the 2002 thru 2006 Camry reviews and you'll see why thousands are ditching their unreliable Toyotas to drive a REAL CAR.

2007 Ford Fusion SEL 3.0 V6 from North America

Summary:

What a real car should be

Faults:

The car is brand new. I just picked it up on Friday. Having put nearly 100,000 totally trouble-free miles on a previous Taurus, I don't anticipate any problems with the better built, highly acclaimed Fusion.

General Comments:

This car is AWESOME. After writing a review about my very troublesome 2006 Camry, I found someone stupid enough to take over the payments on it. Though it meant losing nearly $8000 I jumped at the chance to unload it. The Fusion is everything the Camry WASN'T. It is fast, comfortable, reliable and handles like a $40,000 European sports sedan. I LOVE IT!! After having to take the Camry in EVERY month (at least) for something, it will be great to drive a real car again. Even with leather and all luxury options my 2007 Fusion SEL cost less than my Camry. I am firmly back in the Ford camp and plan to stay there. I'll post future updates as I have time to put more miles on this car. I'm looking forward to keping this one a very long time.

Having put over 300,000 miles on a previous Ford I'd say you made a VERY WISE decision in dumping the bland, unreliable Camry for a real car. Japanese companies spend millions "buying" favorable reviews (i.e. "ads") in automotive magazines to delude the public in to thinking that they are far better than they are. The Fusion is an awesome car that is so far above Camry and Accord it is an insult to Ford to compare them. Hopefully more people will wise up and break out of the robotic, hypnotized delusion that only Japanese companies can build reliable cars. In 35 years I've never owned a BAD domestic or a GOOD import.

2007 Ford Fusion SE V6 from North America

Summary:

Superb car, awsome in the city and on the highway! VERY comfortable!

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

I do not own this car, however for business I needed to drive across the country, from Miami to Las Vegas, and was given a brand new company car. A 2007 Ford Fusion, V6 SE Gray, with 2.2 miles on it when I picked it up.

I must say I was stunned. After being on the road for about 20 minutes, it hit me that this was a very comfortable car. I drove for 15 hours a day for 3 days in a row, through an ice storm.

This car handles great, gets amazing fuel economy for a V6 and has plenty of pickup. The seats are extremely comfortable.

My favorite aspect of this car was the drive, smooth, and quiet. Handled great for a car in its class.

I never liked Fords, in fact I always hated them, as well as most, if not all American cars. I swore the day an American car company builds a decent sedan, then maybe I will buy one. I guess the time has come. Way to go Ford, about time an American Company built a reliable, good quality car.

Being a former Volkswagen, Saab, and Audi owner, taking price into consideration, the Ford Fusion is a car I could definitely tolerate, and the price is great! I highly recommend this car. Drive it before you consider anything else!

Having driven the Fusion, Camry, Accord and VW Passat, I have to say the Fusion wins hands down!! The V-6 Fusion is a fast, smooth, GREAT handling car. although the Accord was supposed to have more power, it felt slower than the Fusion, as well as having very bizarre styling. The 2006 Camry V-6 was slower than most 4-cylinder cars I've driven and cost MORE than the better equipped Fusion. The Passat was the closest competition, but for overall feel, cost and appeal, the Fusion is tops in my book.

Summary:

Ford has a winner in this automobile

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong, yet..

General Comments:

Great looking car that gets great gas mileage for as "snappy" as it is.

I assume that they didn't put a "keypad" on due to the fact that you cannot accidently leave your keys in the car and lock it.. The door lock will unlock when you shut the door on the drivers side (that is if the key is left in the ignition), the other three will stay locked.

Heated leather seats are a plus for us that live in cooler climates..

It must have not come with the keypad option, I have a 2000 Grand Marquis with the coded keypad and it has the feature if you leave the key in the ignition it will unlock the doors. You can get a keypad at the dealer I believe it would be a magnetized one put on the door. I guess when you put the code in "it might" have a small radio transmitter that sends it to unlock the door, just as it would with the remotes. If you get the keypad from the factory its actually built in the door. Good luck on your Fusion.

The keypad is a wonderful option. We've had it on our past Ford Explorers. GM's onstar system can unlock your doors if you accidentally lock the keys inside, but that is nowhere near as convenient as the keypad.
