2000 Ford Ka 1.3 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Fantastic car, cheap to run!

Faults:

Needs new front tyre - was advisory on MOT.

Spare tyre is worn badly - Need a new one of them too.

Boot lock is tempermental. New lock needed perhaps?

General Comments:

This is a great car for all people, whether it is a 1st time car or second car.

Would highly recommend it to anyone.

This is my first car, and I couldn't ask for better really.

Good on petrol, cheap tax & insurance. So cheap to run for the younger drivers. Insurance group 2 as well.

Opt for power steering though, much easier to use. Handles like a go-kart with all 4 wheels in the corner of the KA.

Good visibility all round. Easy to read instruments & dials.

I am really glad that you like your Ka, but you have only driven it for 150 miles so far!

I would like to know if you are still as happy with it now. I hope you are.

It's still an okay car, although I am now looking to get a Fiat 500 as my KA is costing too much to run now; had to spend 3/4 of what its worth not long ago! Shame really, and things are starting to wear down a lot now.

2000 Ford Ka Collection 1.3i from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Excellent fun, safe car. I've loved mine!

Faults:

Nothing major.

Yearly main dealer service has kept it running like new until now. Went for a service last week, lots of leaks etc that need "urgent attention"

Body has corroded somewhat, quite bad rust inside drivers door seal.

General Comments:

I have loved this car over the past 7 years.

It has never let me down. Always started first time, even on the coldest of days.

Had to have a new battery recently. That was to replace the original one that had been in the car from when it was built!

It's an ideal small car, so easy to park. Fuel efficient, economical etc.

Drives really well and handles beautifully.

Decided to retire her on Fords scrappage scheme as cannot justify the cost of bringing her up to scratch now. I'm buying the new '09 KA and I hope the next one will be as fun to drive and own as this one has been!

2000 Ford Ka 1.3i from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Absolutely love it

General Comments:

The first time I ever laid eyes on a Ford Ka it was love at first sight (aged 13). I vowed from that moment I would own one, and when that day finally arrived I was so excited.

My car has been fantastic from the moment I bought it. OK, I've had to get a few things repaired on it, but that's because I use it like 4x4.

I couldn't bear the thought of trading in for an actual 4x4. The only reason I would sell my car would be to get a newer version (but not the brand new version).

I love my car today as much as I loved it when I first purchased it, and I'll hopefully always have an old style Ka to drive.

2000 Ford Ka petrol from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

No complaints, would purchase again

Faults:

Basically nothing.

Have replaced sparks plugs and air cleaner at 50000km.

General Comments:

Reliable, well made practical vehicle.

Has managed to cover all the basics at the right price ie. power steering, central locking, air con, tape deck and sunroof.

Handles nice and taunt, provided the tyre pressure is set up as per the owners manual (for 3 persons).

Cabin space is good with a luggage carrying capacity that would embarrass many larger cars. Some body drum that can be reduced by putting thin layers of high grade insulation in the boot area.

Performs better on 98 octane, and with fuel injector additive in petrol.

First car I have owned that does not leak around door and boot seals.

Only design fault is the spare wheel release system.

Difficult to locate the oil filter.
