The Taurus/Sable sedans are still as common as dishwater (and about as exciting). The wagons are less common. That is not the same as "uncommon", let alone "rare". Done with this pointless argument.

The station wagons were not actually as “common as dishwater”. Ford started losing market share during that time period to competitors, so production runs went down in general. Actually, they discontinued it altogether at one point. Based on my research, the wagons were ~1/10th the production run of the sedans. Entirely possible these are rare enough to have some collectors value in the future.

Where? You don’t see them around my area anymore.

People get too pedantic about the words used, rather than try to just get a general sense of what someone is trying to say. Someone used "rare." Did it necessarily need to be corrected? Just take it for what it is.

Yes, unfortunately there seems to be a lot of grammar lessons on here rather than car talk. Back to the Taurus being as common as dishwater; I myself hardly see any on the road including sedans. Rental car companies have moved on to all new makes of crossovers. Another reason is the reliability of a Taurus from the car on review and the 1st generation really weren't all that great. The 3.0 V6 was a damn good engine, but the rest of the car had many problems.

To the last handful of comments - so, you are suggesting to us there will be collector demand for a bland early 2000’s Taurus wagon in the future, just so I have this correct?

No, I (19:48) simply replied to your comment questioning the notion of what model station wagon would ever have collectors appeal. That's what you wanted, right? Can't predict the future on a Taurus wagon, but the last of the Caprice / Roadmaster and Country Squire/ Colony Park wagons are starting to gain collector's interest.
