I have a '92 GEO Storm GSI, and I loved it when I first bought it. I'm 17 now, and that was a year ago - but now there are good and bad things about it:

The speed of the car is great! I drive on highways to work, and when I want to pass someone, it will go. The engine does get noisy when it's ready to shift.

I paid $2000 for it, had 116,000 miles on it, and the person whom I bought it from took great care of it.

Problems have since come up. Antifreeze leaks BADLY!!! The whole tank will leak out in one week - will leak in less time if I drive more. Gas mileage is great - only have to spend about $15 for a full tank.

The manufacturer made the keys with a soft metal, and I found this out the hard way. Yep, a key broke in the driver's side door. Probably won't bother with it until I have to sell it, which might be in a few weeks. Driver window stopped going down the whole way one day. Cost $200 to fix - OUCH!

Alternator went out at 117500 miles. That was on Feb. 22, 2004, and I don't know if I am willing to spend more money to fix it. I would rather get a better, newer car since my college is 4 hours from home, but I would like other people's opinions! PLEASE GIVE ME SOME FEEDBACK! Fix it? or get another car?

Hello...can anyone tell me how to fix my rear view mirror? It fell off into my lap while I was driving this morning. I cannot figure out how to put it back on. It is a 1991 Geo Storm. Somehow it screw in. Help a sister out!

I have a 93 base Geo storm and love it. I bought it a 80k and now have 140k I have rust on it that I fixed over the summer. I solved the door lock freezing issue by repairing the vapor shield. I have had my car up to 110 and maintained 85 for 4 hours on the highway. Any other car this old would be in a scrap heap somewhere or be in the for repairs weekly. I plan on doing some Mod's to increase horsepower at the lower end. I don't want to be part of the cattle crowd driving Honda's yuck...

I drive a 92 Storm base, recently did an engine swap and slapped in a storm gsi motor I found at a junk yard, runs great, anyways, I redid my exhaust and got 21/2 inch piping cat back. Air intake, build up the bottom end of my engine, T4T3 turbo running 18psi, and my "Slow Geo" runs a 11.5. Not bad I guess for a "slow car"

I have a 93 base model Storm. Got it in Feb 04 with 62500 miles, for $2000. Somebody took good care of it. I have replaced 1 headlight and the water thermostat. I use the Mfg suggested sparkplugs and change oil every 3000 miles and get 33 mpg. It is a quick and nimble little car. EASY FIX to keep DOOR locks from freezing. Most auto store sell small cans of graphite spray, comes with a little tube to attach to the spray nozzle. Stick it in any of the door locks and give a little spray. Also, buy small can of silicon spray. Spray on a clean cloth. Spray AWAY from any car window glass. Rub the cloth on the rubber door seals. This will keep your door from frezing shut. Love my GEO.

I am just glad that SOMEONE acknowledged that the motor was made by Isuzu - in fact, the ENTIRE CAR was made by Isuzu. Some parts (ACDelco sensors, electronics) are GM, but the car in general was made in Japan by Isuzu. Don't believe me? Check the silver sticker in the door frame.

I really like my 1992 Geo Storm accept for getting in and out of it. I do need some help. How do I remove the old low beam headlight and replace it? I've called mechanics and they can't/won't tell me.

Yeah, picked up a '92 base for $200 with 110,000 miles on. The first thing that went bad was a bad ignition coil. But since then, nothing really has gone wrong with it. Except it sounds like the exhaust is going to fall off at any moment and at times you get some weird noises up front that seem to work themselves out.

This car has pep and is fairly low to the ground and you can feel it in the cornering.

All I can say is.. this is a car that I think will get over looked by some.. but lets face it.. it's a great car and someday.. maybe people will realize it.

And true.. to that.. who wants a Honda.. this is such a conversation piece its not even funny..

I just bought a '92 Geo Storm, $550. The hood and top will need new paint job and there is a little rust spot on the back, but other than that it is a cute little car. It runs well. I have not taken it on a long trip, but will try it this weekend. (from NC to Richmond, VA) Not a real long trip, but long enough to find out how well it will do on the highway. So far I love it.

91 Base, just got one for free and love it! Had to put a battery in it and new wiper blades. It only has 32000 original miles and looks awesome. The guy before me had a DUI and it sat for years then he bought a new Toyota truck and never drove it.

NOW ITS MINE, ALL MINE.

I have a 91 Storm with over 160 thousand on it.

I love it; it's fast and does good mileage.

For under 3000 dollars I supercharged it and got a cold air intake.

I will blow any of my friends away, and they get mad cuz they got beat by a Geo.

I have a 92 storm. I've had it for 11 years. I have had no major problems with it. Except the window thing. What's the deal there? All I've ever had to do is regular maintenance... tune ups, replace wipers, oil changes..etc. I got it when I was 18 and loved it, but now that I'm almost 30, the fact that the back seat is so small is starting to get to me. Wicked little car for one or two people to cruise in. Love the turn radius, and corners awesome. Definitely recommend it for a first car. P.S. "Don't slam the door, it's heavy enough to close on its own." How many times have I said that???
