Hey, me again. Now our Astra's hit 150,000 km just the other day, still going extremely well with this sort of mileage. Buying some new tyres soon as the others are wearing in a bit now; probably still another 10,000 km on them though.

Cannot speak highly enough of this car, has never let us down.

Happy motoring guys...

Now on 165,000 km.

Seems like my review has turned into a bitching session about the Astra; seriously guys, go and post your comments on another page, not this one.

We haven't had any trouble with our Astra, and it's not like there are no faults with any other cars out there; cars are mechanical, and they are not meant to last forever.

Still have our blue Astra and now it's on 180,000 km. Just did oil, filter and plugs, and had the air con serviced about a month ago as well.

Running like a charm.

The funny thing is it's now 2014 and we still own this car now on 194,000 km...

Still going great, and for a car this age now, it amazes me how so many people can complain.

We just had the air con re-gassed, and that's about it.

Still handles nice, and obviously it has loosened up a little, but still feels solid on the road.

Fuel economy is still OK.

Good to hear - keep posting. I was the one who asked earlier about the electricals, mentioning problems in England with their Astras. It looks as if the weather does play a part. I can't see the original review, is your car an automatic or a manual?

That's great! I bought my AH CDX new in 2004. It has been a great car! The CIM module has failed tonight, oh well, it does have 268,000 on the clock and has never missed a beat, still on the original brakes even! I am however eying the new Opel Astra...

That CIM was the module I was thinking of re: failures in the UK. Did it cost much to replace?

Yes still going strong, had a minor leak from the sump gasket and dropped the pan and re-sealed with new sealant.

Our little blue Astra has now done 231,000 km...

I hope the Astra haters are still on board because I'll keep this going as long as we own this car...

Can you please add a photo of where the cruise control is and where the CD stacker is? My Mum just bought the same car, but she just told me it doesn't have cruise control; I figure she just can't find it. I'm a few hours away from her so can't look for her. She is used to driving a 93 model car, so is not used to new technology.

The CD stacker was the in dash style.

Our model CDXi was the top of the range at the time we purchased it in 2005, and it came with the CDC40 Opera head unit which takes 6 CDs inside.

Not all Astras came with a 6 stacker in dash; some only came with a single CD player.

After 2005 I'm pretty sure there is an aux input for your phone located in the centre console.

The cruise control is on the left stalk, with a little button on the end you can click to turn on or off at your desired speed; obviously pressing the brake will also deactivate it as well.

We updated our stereo a few years ago and installed a Pioneer AVIC F90BT head unit with Bluetooth, nav and hands free, so that was a welcome improvement.

Still have our blue Astra at 280,000km..

Front sway bar links done and lower control arms.

Running like a swiss watch...

294,000km and still going in our little blue Astra. The car still turns heads in its striking blue.

2023 - I still have my Astra 2005 CDX and it is still in great shape! 146,000 km on the clock, I religiously have it serviced regularly for oil changes etc. Have had to replace a few things over the years, nothing major until now, I need a new accelerator sensor. It helps when you work for a spare parts supplier - Holden in Melbourne still have a few available. Interior is still good and so is the paintwork except for a small patch starting to go on the bumper bar. Colour is metallic silver/grey. Handles great still and I will be sorry when the day comes and I have to let it go (it was my Dad's car originally). This car is as solid as a rock!
