Wondering if anyone can help me? I have a Holden Vectra GL 2000 model automatic, fantastic to drive, but just recently it keeps cutting out as I'm driving along, more so when reversing, but the odd time as I'm driving along it feels like it's stalling, does a chugging motion, then loses power, and then the engine light comes on. 2 separate mechanics have been all over it and found nothing, but said it could be 1 of 2 things; the computer or the air flow filter.

If anyone has any advice, please let me know. I'm scared to fork out a small fortune and not fix the right problem.

I also have a Vectra 2000 GL (manual) and had similar problems with stalling/cutting out. Eventually found a mechanic who said it was a carbon build up on the throttle body and it needed cleaning - this fixed the problem (shouldn't cost much either)

6 months ago I bought a Vectra GL 2000. A week after I got it, the airbag light came on and it developed the problem of cutting out when I decelerate. So far I have had it in the garage and been told never to buy Holden or Ford that are European made, as they are consistently a problem. I now have to travel 2 hours to have the thing diagnosed and fixed. Nice to read some of the comments about them, and I think that perhaps they have been helpful. According to the mechanic, there is nothing wrong with the airbag, spring or workings, but cannot get the light to go out.
