2009 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4 from North America

Summary:

The Accord is a beautiful, sporty car that is economical, reliable, and fun... good value

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong, but it's still very new.

General Comments:

I usually prefer the styling of a coupe, but I really like the styling of the sedan and chose it over the coupe for the extra space, access to the rear seats, and the resell value.

At the dealership, I test drove the V-6 and the four cylinder each twice. I decided on the 190 hp 4 cylinder engine and am very impressed with its power, performance, and gas mileage, which has been about 28 mpg. It redlines at 7100 rpm so downshifting for passing power is a rewarding experience with the engine's nice sound at higher rpms.

The ride is excellent and better than I had anticipated. It's fun to drive on any road, but especially on twisty roads, where the steering, engine, and the suspension create very supple, responsive handling.

The number of convenience features is impressive for the price... moon roof, heated seats, compass, sound system, leather, and automatic everything. I particularly like the engine oil life readout and the automatic headlights that switch on and off depending on ambient light.

I am impressed that the Accord has won Car and Driver's top ten car award so many times. Now I can see why.

2009 Honda Accord EX-L V6 Sedan V6 from North America

Summary:

Honda's best kept secret in a family car. We love ours to death

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

This is my 8th Honda Accord!! Why have I been a fan of these cars for so many years? They are superbly well built, and they are superbly reliable. All of my previous Accords were all 4 door sedans, and all of them had automatic transmissions. The 1997, the 2001, the 2005, and this one have and/or had the V6 motors.

As far as this one is concerned, the car speaks for itself. My wife and I absolutely love this one to death. It is very roomy, and so powerful. It is tremendous on the highway, and tremendous in the city. Ours has the leather seats, which are ever so comfortable.

Now that we have ours, quite a few of our neighbors have gone out and purchased a 2009 Accord themselves. The minute that the neighbors saw ours, it was a matter of word of mouth that spread the word. And yes, the neighbors that bought them absolutely adore them. Some have the V6, and others got the 4 cylinder model.

We have been fans of this car for a long time, and will continue to do so. In fact, our sons bought 2009 models themselves.

Honda, whatever formula that you are using to make these cars as excellent as they are, please continue to follow that same formula. No wonder why they have made to the Top 10 List of Best Mid Size Cars numerous times for all these years!

If you are a diehard fan of the Accord, be sure to go to your nearest Honda dealer and test drive one of these. You will definitely buy one in a heartbeat.

Last week, I was at the Honda dealer to look at the new Accord 2009. Last December I bought a Corolla Sport (European) that had been in the showroom for over 3 years. I like the outside of both Toyota Avensis and Honda Accord. But get into the Accord, and you are lost. So ergonomically engineered on the inside. My car has a very low mileage now, but I am still a little sorry I didn't wait just a little bit longer and buying me this wonderful Honda machine. It is within my financial possibilities, and I still dream about having one. In Europe there is only the 2 litre, 2.4 litre (and 2,2 diesel, but I am a petrolhead), and I am waiting if there would be an European 3,0 v6 model. It was not on the list, so far. I share your admiration for this 'beauty'.

Funny, everything has gone wrong with ours, the Accords have some of the worst transmissions around, look at auto beef.
