Buy 02 to 05, do not buy 01.

You are right on the money. Being a Honda guy forever (1975), it is sad I had to give the 2006 Civic a bad review, but it is a disappointment after my 2002. There was not one day when driving my 2002 I would think... this is a perfect car!

With the 2006, I am thinking... did they change everyone who designs the Civic down at Honda? This is not at all what I am used to over the years, and feel taken; where is the nice tight, quality feeling, fun to drive car?

I'm not taking a chance on getting a Kia quality Honda again, so I will take a good look at the new Hyundai Elantra.

So you'd buy a Hyundai, but not the "Kia quality Honda?" Hyundai owns Kia, so they are pretty similar in their quality.

I have an '06 Civic with 130,000+ miles on it, and it has been the best car I have ever owned (all domestics before this, so that might explain some of it). All I have ever had to do was replace tires, brakes, and a few of the little plastic things that hold the bumper on, and change the oil.

I am on the fence about trading it in right now actually. Trying to talk my girlfriend into trading in her Mustang instead, so we can keep my '06 Civic.

My experience with Civic was so bad that I never will buy another Japanese car. I have owned several Mustangs, and none of them ever saw the inside of a repair shop. I'd keep the Mustang. At 130,000 miles the Civic is way overdue for massive problems. Most Fords will go 200,000+ without so much as a tune-up.

Really? I bought a 1994 Accord from my in laws in 1995. I have been using it as a daily driver to and from work (75 miles round trip) and as our family vacation car. I currently have 310,000 miles. Not once, I repeat, not once has it ever laid down on me. In this same time my wife has driven two Fords (Taurus and Explorer). We never made it to 100K without either rebuilding the transmission or having some major work done to the engine.

I had this car for awhile now. It has been perfect. I also had a 2002 Civic.. which was not nearly as good. I have to disagree with your review. I have a feeling this is more of a false review than anything!

I agree that this review has no explanation to why the 2006 is not as good as a 2002, and should be ignored.

This might be more compelling if you backed it up with, oh.. I don't know. Facts? As it stands right now, no one is going to give your review much credit since you don't explain to us why your Civic is "junk".
