Great pickup truck. I've been using it for 2 years now.

Genuine parts are available.

With 300000 kilometers on the road, still the truck functions well. Maybe I'll be using this truck for another 20 years as long as parts are readily available. If you have one don't sell it, it's a reliable partner.

ISUZU KB 250 DIESEL: South Africa

I have one that was bought in 1981 and it is still running smoothly without any major repairs except for the tailgate that got damaged. currently it has done 810000Km's, it still starts without a hitch and can do 160Km/H. It is used on my farm as work horse and only gets to rest on Sundays. Even the paintwork is still in very good condition. My advice to a prospective buyer: Buy one now and treat it well! only fit the original equipment that you bought it with, even the shocks and tires. Remember to service it on the correct intervals as prescribed and keep to it regardless of its age.

I am having great trouble sorting out the glow-plug warning light on my vehicle. it has only done 42000km and the dealers do not seem to know what to do about the problem. the warning light remains on for a long period of time and the engine sounds quite rough while this is the case. As soon as this light goes off, the engine sounds fine and the vehicle performs better. Can anyone offer any help regarding this problem?

Many thanks.

Bought my Isuzu recently and was wondering about the Diff Lock function, as the light comes on when starting, but when "activated" it does not work, as the light does not come on after pushing the switch on, why could this be? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My company only uses this kind of pick-ups. We have an '98 now with 478.000km, still going strong. Only oil and filter are replaced every 5000km.

Hi.

I bought my 280DT Double Cab in November 1996 new, the best buy ever. Has now 422,000km on the clock and is still a pleasure to drive.

Mechanical problems: (Not normal wear and tear.)

-Diff needed new bearings at +/- 120,000km. From then till now at 422,000km no problems there, must have been a bad batch.

-One timing gear broke and had to replace all at 410,000km. Engine after replacement of gears runs as smooth as new.

-Replaced the glow plug switch with a fixed timed unit.

-Cleaned out the complete cooling system at 415,000km, was overheating at high speeds. Problem solved.

-Others were just normal wear and tear replacements like Tyres, Shocks, Brake discs and pads etc.

I owned it now for almost ten years and is still very happy. Will not get rid of it easily.

I did not “spare” the vehicle, it was and is still driven hard on all types of roads.

I have a 2001 KB 200 series recently bought from one old lady within my city. The engine seems to be perfect, only the steering seems to be shaking and the fuel consumption seems to be a bit high. What should I do to reduce the fuel consumption. Note that it's sitting on 265000 kilometres and it's a petrol engine.
