Yes igot one man. trans. LX 1100cc and it is very good and over one I saved -it is strong and stable over 100 km and no secrte this car is my no.14 over my life. i love it.
I'm from the Philippines, I am driving a picanto lx 1.1 manual, I am getting 17km/l in highway driving at an average and on city driving it is about 12-13km/l, I am happy with the performance and no problem encountered.
My Picanto is a 2005 1.0GS I've found that fuel consumption is fantastic around town, but can be quite diabolical on the motorways where driving at over 3500rpm is needed. That said I would highly recommend higher octane fuels such as 99 super unleaded, although this costs more the car performs better and seems to do better mpg. My puny 999cc engine will max out at 106mph so I can't complain about performance for the size. Just wish I could find some engine specifications/ workshop manual for this car to aide tuning. Perfect car for my small family- two adults and three children.
I'm driving a Automatic Picanto. I never had any problem with my Picanto. For the past 2 years, I am enjoying this car. NO REPAIR at all. Just normal 5000km black oil replacement. So what can I say. Look great, work great and pocket GRATEless!
Talking about long distance driving, fuel consumption is still very low compare to other car. It is a sensitive car and the transmission is very smooth. Please be reminded that do not rev it above 3500rpm, there is no point of doing so except to burn more fuel and drag the Picanto to hell. It will gradually increase in pickup.
Tips: For automatic Picanto, to save fuel, please be gentle with the accelerator pedal. Press it slowly until 3000rpm, as the car move smoothly, listen for the gear change and release the pedal abit everytime the gear about to change. This is assure you that there is no need to rev it all the way more than 3500 rpm because your technometer will show you that you are driving at 90km/h.
After a simple modification to my injector which cost me RM50, I get 9sec (1-100km/h) and 25% fuel saving for my Picanto! Proton car can eat dust for that.
I will not change or upgrade this car for it is a practical car which over-achieved what I really want in a 'car'. Proton car is more like a CARt.
I would recommend to most driver who are driving a problematic MALAYSIA BOLEH car called PROTON to switch to Picanto or Naza Suria. By the way body kits will be flooding the market for modding freaks with the introduction of Naza Suria.
Hi hi.
You mention that your change your picanto fuel injector. Can share with us more at www.sgkiaclub.com??
Lots of picanto owners there.
The air conditioning is a bit hot for this car. Any comment?? Anyone?? Been using this car for two years.
Replace the air filter behind the glove compartment for the air conditioner about every 25000-30000 kilometers. Makes a big difference to the air coming through the air conditioner.
