Flimsy rear wiper arm broke (plastic) while I was brushing snow off of the car.
The car seems to be very well built, the seats are very comfortable and the interior has a good feel to it.
The 4-wheel drive is excellent, very capable in snow and also off-road.
This is a tank, it is huge and lumbering with a turning radius that is at times difficult. Of course that's what you get when you buy a big SUV so I am not faulting the car itself.
The value is awesome- for under $40K new you get a high-class image, traction control, sunroofs, other goodies.
Drinks lots and lots of gas, in the city I get around 10-12MPG, highway is better. Not a car for commuting or everyday transportation, unless you're already used to driving a big gas pig.
? the rear window has heat strips built in, no need for scraping.
Here in Colorado the "heat strips" don't cut it; you do have to scrape. Also if you turn the rear wiper on and its frozen to the glass it will break-- the dealer fixes mine gratis under the warranty, but its still a pain and very unelegant to have it broken and hanging loose. I noticed the new LR3 has a metal wiper arm now.
