I have an 04 Ultimate that is loaded down, and I think the stereo is awesome. It definitely beats many other SUV stereo systems. You must be a stereo buff or you wouldn't know the difference!!

I would recommend NEW rotors instead of "turning" old rotors. Good luck.

If you've got $60k to spend on a car, $2k to get the sound system you want fitted isn't going to hurt too much.

Yeah, but for 60K, should this guy have to? That's a whole lot of money for a premium vehicle to get home and find that the stereo pales to that of a Geo. I agree that he should have listened to the sound system first, but I sure as he*l don't think he should have to shell out however much more it would cost him to redo the whole thing.

When I test drive a vehicle, the last thing I want to hear is the radio. I turn the radio completely off. I want to listen to any rattle or road noise, shift engagements, suspension, basically anything mechanical. I base it off the drive itself and how it responds to user input. Maybe that's what he did. I have a 03 ultimate and I'm pleased with most of it. It drives like a car however I hate the electrical gremlins that have shown up over the years (park assist sometimes work, side mirror switch sometimes work, heated seats sometimes work, etc) The drive itself is still one of a kind.

Maybe your stereo is in the default 'flat' mode. That means it may have an equalizer or bass and treble adjusters that are turned to "0". If you haven't tried adjusting those, give them a try. It sounds like you need to turn your 'treble' up to its highest point and maybe it won't sound muffled. Good luck.
