Faults:

Servicing and essentials. The car has had no major problems.

General Comments:

Mazda 6 in white, with black alloy wheels. Stunning looking car, still very modern looking.

Inside is also stylish and comfortable. Sport model has the lot, leather and electrics. To drive the car is amazing. 2.2 turbo diesel pulls strong and does over 60 mpg, cannot say fairer than that. Handling is nice, a little rough around town on some surfaces, but cruises on the motorway OK.

Despite being 9 years old, there is no rust which is apparently good for a Mazda! Also despite its age, I still use main dealer servicing, they have been OK with me and surprisingly reasonable with prices.

Out of other rival cars (Ford Mondeo, Vauxhall Insignia) I would say the Mazda 6 is the better car; I can comment as I have owned all cars in the family/executive sector from this time period.

Faults:

A/C is weaker now, had the brake discs and pads changed, suspension sounds a bit rattly in the front left - will get it checked soon. There have been no expensive or big problems in my ownership. I service the car on time, but I have not done much mileage in it to be fair, but seems OK so far.

General Comments:

What an impressive looking and comfortable car, the 2013 onwards (3rd gen Mazda 6) is the best yet. Previous to this car I had a 1st gen 2006 Mazda 6 that rusted away to nothing at barely 10 years old - this model I have now is getting to that age and seems to have no rust whatsoever so that is a good sign.

Dark blue, very nice in darker colors. Inside is black and nicely styled. I love the fact mine is a 2014 and has a traditional handbrake - from 2015 onwards they deleted it and gave all Mazda 6's an electronic button which I really dislike.

The car is sharp to drive and the 2.0 petrol is worth looking at over the diesels - you can get 45 - 50 mpg on a good day and the performance is great, and the engine is very quiet.

SE-L model is a good spec and is well equipped as per modern car - electric windows, air con, etc. The center console display is well designed and all the controls are easy to figure out and are at hand.

General quality is improved over previous generations, and this feels like a very solid car and makes a great alternative to the Vauxhall Insignia or Ford Mondeo.

Faults:

Sat nav issues.

Bluetooth issues.

USB connection issues.

General Comments:

I couldn't wait to get my hands on my new Mazda6 2.2 diesel Skyactiv SE Nav. My other rep mobile, the Vauxhall Insignia, was on its last legs after 3 years. All the hype behind the Mazda6 is true, it's a great car to drive, and I look forward to getting into it each morning, and after 7 months I have covered 20,000 miles. I will average around 35,000 pa.

The car is quick and handles well. I average around 48 MPG with a heavy right foot and a mixture of town city and motorway driving. If driven frugally I have reached 60+ MPG with cruise set on the motorway. My only gripe is the multimedia system; I have had issues with it and still do. My iPod doesn't always work or various USB sticks. My TomTom sat nav freezes or gives me duff info, and the Bluetooth doesn't always connect. My dealer in Manchester has been great trying to resolve the problems, and the most recent was a software update, so let's see how that goes.

I do miss the hatchback and wish Mazda would reintroduce this. The sales rep market prefers hatchbacks; one reason we moved away from the Toyota Avensis. 2015 sees a facelift inside with a new MMS; is this due to the number of complaints about the old one? Who knows, you decide... I would have another though.
