2003 Mazda B2500 DX 2.5 turbo diesel from Tunisia
Summary:
Basic, but reliable and strong workhorse
Faults:
Chassis and bodywork problems, starting with rust and vulnerability to corrosion, especially on the frame, rear cab supports, and cargo box.
As for the paint, the hood and front fenders tend to peel.
Lower ball joints and hub bearings wear out over time.
This particular diesel engine has difficulty starting, which is normal for a vehicle over 20 years old. This is due to air in the fuel system, faulty injection pump check valves, and worn glow plugs.
The only engine problem was due to the turbocharger rather than the engine itself. The turbocharger actuator tends to fail, causing a loss of power in the truck.
General Comments:
It's a pickup truck with basic, simple mechanics, but extremely reliable. I'm talking about the one I owned; maybe I was lucky, but the engine, even though it's not the fastest or most powerful, never gave me any problems except with the turbo. It's ideal for hauling things and using it outside the city; you can put mile after mile on it and the engine won't even notice.
The only thing that causes wear and tear over the years is not the engine but the internal components; the plastics are not of the best quality, as I said before, it is not galvanized so the sheet metal tends to rust frequently, that's why it's best not to leave it exposed to the sun for long periods, especially for those who live in places where the summer sun is very strong.
The model I had was one of the most basic, although it did include air conditioning, which works really well. Beyond that, there isn't much extra equipment. It's somewhat stiff to drive, although the power steering makes maneuvering and parking easier.
It's a vehicle focused on work, sacrificing interior comfort.
It's an excellent option for those looking for a durable, low-maintenance tool, provided it receives regular preventative maintenance. They're built to last as long as possible. I recently sold mine with everything in perfect working order despite having 250,000 kilometers on it.

Sounds like they sold you a car with 115000 miles, but it actually had 350000...
