I am only 19 and was given the option of driving this car on private land. I have to say it is such a wonderful car to drive, superb to look at and fantastically made. I really love it. I have driven quite a few cars on private land, i.e. the renault Laguna and BMW 323i.
Compared to cars like the Audi A6 this Mazda really stands out. I really wish (and pray) I could own one as I love cars. There are too many idiotic boy racers out there with manky old Nova's and Escorts having crashes so the insurance is just so expensive and it is group 17. A real shame for those who are not young thugs and appreciate quality. You can pick up an Xedos 9 2.5i (before the supercharged 2.3) for as little as £2000.
Due to insurance I won't be able to drive it until I am 25. :. (If I could i'd buy one today.
Mazda are fools for stopping making this car.
I am 22 and I own a 1994 Mazda Xedos-6 2.0 V6, managed to get a brilliant insurance quote on it. £500 a year or £55 a month!! My Ford Mondeo 1.8 TD was more!!!
Indeed things do seem a bit boring at Mazda now that the Xedos 9 (and Xedos 6) have gone. The Mazda6 could be as good, but lack of a V6 option lets the side down completely.Generally, dealers can talk alloy engines, compression ratios, variable valve timings, 0-60 times,6 cup holders or more, fold down rear seats, memory mirrors and seats, rain sensors, park assist,18 inch alloys, AWD until the cows come home, but the loss of that purring V6 would leave the ownership experience for me, only half baked. No, I will keep my QX Nissan. If I do change, it will have to be a 3 ltr Camry.
