2008 Mercury Milan Premier review from North America
"Excellent FWD car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing.
General comments?
The Milan has really been more of a great car than what I thought it would be.
I was forced to switch to FWD after moving 4-states north from Texas. Snow-snow-snow.
I traded in my 2003 Lincoln Town Car "l" for this Milan.
I have to say that the Milan has really done so well that I don't think that I would switch back to a Town Car.
The Milan is getting an average of 24.8 mpg on the 4cyl. The Town Car was getting 20.5, but it was a V-8 and was over 4,440 lbs. I think that my Milan is only 3,200 lbs. 1/3 is city 2/3 interstate at 75 mph.
The car seems to go anywhere in snow, and mine is only a FWD.
The trunk is huge, and the back seats do fold down to accept large items, but the Town Car's trunk was much deeper and would accept a large t.v. box and still shut down, as where the length of the Milan's trunk opening is too short to accept a bigger box.
The acceleration is not as strong as the town car, but very adequate.
The car is easy to get into and out of.
Road/engine sounds are a bit more than the Town Car.
The Town Car would never produce any road sounds at any speed, and the engine could only be detected on full throttle interstate on ramps.
Everyone always says how nice the Milan looks. Mine is red.
The car still drives like it did when it was new.
No problems, I would buy another one today.
I don't know what else to say. Just go out and buy one, and you will be happy.
