1995 Mitsubishi Lancer GTi review from Brazil
"One of the best choices for a 10 year car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Although it's an old car, me and the previous owner had a very small number of problems (none of them serious) with this car. Below are the worst ones:
The driver's glass works poorly, when closing it makes a weird sound, and sometimes it needs the help of my hand to close.
Some interior plastic parts suffer vibration at certain speeds, making noises specially on bad terrain (80% of the streets of Brazil are horrible).
General comments?
One of the great points of having this car in Brazil is exclusivity. Mitsubishi Lancer is an extremely rare car around here, and Lancer GTi is so rare that I've never seen another one.
It has an outstanding performance for an 1.8 car, it accelerates faster than 98% of the "standard" cars in Brazil (only beaten by Audi A3 1.8T and Fiat Marea Turbo).
The interior space is huge (larger than a GM Vectra), and its quite comfortable for an sport car.
It's very good to drive, except in the heavy traffic, because the gear pedal (the left one) demands great efforts to be pressed.
Finding the performance specifications for this car is very hard, even Mitsubishi didn't answer my e-mails asking for it. After searching a lot, that's what I've found:
Power: 140bhp
Top Speed: 210km/h
Acceleration: 0-100km/h in 7.6 seconds
Fuel spendings (urban) : 10km/liter.
