Good review. They just redesigned that Rogue Nissan model and it's a very sharp looking SUV now, at least to me. Prices at my local Nissan dealership start around $27,000 to 28,000 and go up from there, and I mean up. And they only have 9 of them on the lot which tells me that production is down where they make that vehicle. But the virus has changed everything on new car prices along with used car prices. If I had my choice I would have purchased a used 2015 RX350 certified SUV for less money, but new is always nice, especially if you have to be at work on time.

I don't think the reviewer is in the US - Canada more likely (notice the mileage is in kilometres); maybe Canada being part of the Commonwealth used imperial English measurement.

Bridgestone Alenza tires . G@d knows they are. Might be a product that is targeting the OEM market, with an (aggressive) eye towards cost effectiveness.

Bose Audio quality? We have a high-end Mazda whose "Premium Bose Sound System" is good - but not great. They have transitioned from a Rightfully Revered Product to a Ubiquitous Brand.

Having said all of that, the 2021 Rogue looks of be a resurgence of Nissan (with the Altima) with the positive :)

Yes, the reviewer is in Canada. Imperial measurement was the standard until the country went metric. But, for us geezers, it's more meaningful when converted to mpg, Imperial. Really, ltrs/100 km's is just incomprehensible.

Our previous CX-5 GT had a very good Bose system (9 speaker, I think). And HD. you could literally place the instruments spatially, as you should. As Bose would have engineered.

The Nissan Bose system is not nearly that. It's flat, and colourless. And all the instruments appear huddled just behind the windshield.

Likely, a result of cost cutting, but still being able to say, "Bose".

I couldn't visualise L/100 km, I measure consumption in km/L. At least you know clearly how far a litre is taking you. The "/100 km" muddles things.

Bose sound systems is all marketing. People hear the word Bose and for some reason they associate this with high quality sound system. Maybe there are some real good Bose systems out there, but for the most part you pay too much for too little and a fancy looking badge.

Seats are a cut above the competition. Great perch. The power mechanism has a large range. Much more so than our previous CX-5.

The car is impervious to crosswinds. Even while skirting a tornado. The Bridgestone Alenza's were great in the torrential rain.

Once used to the Rogue's electronic shifter, I really like the ease and simplicity. Well thought out.

The Bose sound system continues to disappoint. With any style of music. Truly... it's out of place in a car at the top of the Rogue's price range.

Gas mileage is disappointing. The average over the 6979kms is 25.7mpg Imperial, or 21.4 US, or 10.99 ltrs/100kms. The Rogue's computer calculates the mileage at 10 ltrs/100kms over the 6979kms... That's a significant error. The CX-5 computer was accurate over the life of the car. I manually calculate mileage with every tank of gas.

Ultimately, the Rogue is really likeable. And I do like it a lot, in spite of the cheap sound system.

OK, still like the car. It does just go about without any fuss. It's easy to drive. Tracks well. Rides pretty good. And it's quiet and comfortable. With great seats.

Except for:

1. The infotainment unit hasn't been updated, by Nissan, since the car was new. And it does need updating. Several unaddressed software glitches, and some really dumb practices (like asking whether you want to enable WiFi when you start Apple Car Play?. Really, if I select CarPlay I expect it to do whatever it needs to do without having to reach over and confirm that I want to do it). And then why can't it remember where it was and which features were being used the last time I used the car, when I start the car in the next morning. Have to make my selections all over again. Then, there's the random selection of AM radio channels that start up when I start the car (who listens to AM anymore?). And sometimes it just blacks out. Or reboots itself. (Our previous CX-5 had the black out issue when we first got it. A quick update from Mazda solved the problem) WAKEUP Nissan!

2. I've noticed lately that the car can cause some head tossing. But it's only just become noticeable in the last few months. Something that is only just there and took a long time to notice, but it's there.

3. Gas mileage is nowhere near what is advertised, or what is displayed by the on board "computer". The trip meter is totally out to lunch. That it has not been updated with a software update to correct the error, suggests either poor design or poor intent.

Overall, I still like the car, but there are a few minor niggles that tarnish the overall experience.

You take a Nissan Rogue to the track?

Nothing remarkable to add over the past (almost) year. Good things are still the good things. The "Bose" stereo is still just very ordinary. The electronics are still flakey even after two updates.

The Bridgestone Alenza's are actually pretty good. There's still another year of tread.

The Rogue was a delight over a long distance drive up to the Laurentians from Southern Ontario. Great long distance seats, accurate steering, steering assist, and good resistance to crosswinds.

October 23/23 44329km.

Replaced the Bridgestones with Michelin CrossClimate 2 about 5000km ago. They ride better than the Bridgestones, and noise seems about the same (which wasn't bad with Bridgestones). But, they aren't as tight handling, with turn in not quite as sharp.

Nissan still hasn't addressed the poor electronics. Apple Carplay has become very fussy since the dealer re-flashed the system. AND, the wireless charging works only about 20% of the time. Re-flashing doesn't help.

Overall it's a decent package, even pleasant to drive, especially on a long trip. But Nissan's continued failure to fix their electronics is a black eye for them.
