1990 Nissan Sunny LS 1.4 12V from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A cheap underrated rocketship!

Faults:

The only thing was the battery about three weeks ago, it had done well though as it was the original from 10 years ago!

General Comments:

Highly underrated car, mainly due to its looks I feel. Can keep up with XR2s and the like which surprised me (and others!) It may just be mine, I'm not sure, but the 0-60 time is incredible for a 1.4!

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Hello there, I used to own a Nissan Sunny 1.3LX, it was a piece of crap, but now I have a Nissan Sunny 1.6SLX. The insurance is a bit high, but the car flies. It can easily overtake XR2's and gives many sports cars a good race.

I used to also have a Nissan Sunny 1.4 LS which I kitted up. This was a rocket bomb kicking up all those XR2i's and many other fake boy racers. I just can't imagine how fast the Sunny 1.8ZX is. Anyway I now have a Nissan Sunny 1.6 16v twin cam SRi which will leave everyone at the lights. Yes I'm now on the level of MR2's and Scoobys believe it or not, buy one.

I haven't ever had a 1.4 Sunny. I own year 1990 Sunny 1.6 SLX HB and I must agree you guys that there is something special in these cars. Sunny is not only powerful and stable handling, it has a soul. And what is said about car flying is quite true. Sunny almost drives by itself, it is so easy to handle if pilot only understands his/hers Sunny. I just love this car.

You are so right. No wonder the Nissan 100NX is based on the Sunny.

I've got a 1990 Sunny 1.4 - it's had its share of problems, but it's never left me stranded. These engines are built like tanks, they go like rockets and they're good for 200,000 miles with regular servicing. My car will sit on 90mph all day every day, and all it asks in return is an oil change every 4 or 5 months!
