I have a 99 Alero V6 and my anti-lock brake light keeps coming on, along with the trac off light, my brakes also make a crunching sound. I read earlier that this may be the caliper; any suggestions?

I have a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero.

Both of my back windows will not stay up; they are electrical and I had someone to look at it, and they gave me a quote of 3-400.00 to fix them. Can someone give me instructions how to get to the window regulator to check to see if that is the problem?

Thanks, Marsha in Texas.

Hello. I'm also the owner of 99 Alero, and have had the same window problems has most of you have seem to had. I would just like to ask where I can find the new clips to avoid over paying for unneeded work. This is the first major problem I have really come across with my Alero. Other than this it is quite the car.

The brakes squeak on occasion due to my driving style. And every once in a while I hear a noise when I put my car from park to reverse. But nothing of any real problems. If I could receive some help for my windows it would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

I purchased a 99 Alero 2 years ago. As with everyone else, my drivers side window regulator went out and the clips broke. I called around and everyone told me I had to buy a whole new window plus the regulator and they wanted to charge me $300-$500. I called a local junk yard. They replaced the plastic clips with metal ones on the original window and replaced the regulator. All that plus labor only cost me $116 and I had the car back in an hour. Haven't had a problem since.

Now I'm leaking antifreeze... more like it's draining. We filled it with coolant night before last, and yesterday afternoon it was empty, and I didn't drive it yesterday at all.

My mom bought the ugliest car on the planet almost 11years ago. Her poo brown... I'm sorry... auburn mist 1999 Oldsmobile Alero GL 3.4L V. and like a family heirloom this car was passed down to me with rust, problems and cancer galore.

The left front spring to the suspension broke and the exhaust is bad.

I have replaced the head gaskets twice in 6 months; it really does eat coolant.

I have replace the radiator, water pump, spark plugs (3 times in 2 months), radiator hoses, oxygen sensor, calipers, alternator, and just about every gasket in the car.

The oil needs to be changed more often than any other car. I keep trying to save up, but the car kills itself even after routine maintenance and constant care.

Ever seen the movie Christine... the car in the movie is demon possessed. The owner becomes addicted to the car because it fixed itself and killed anyone the offends the owner. I named my car Christopher because instead of fixing itself and me killing myself, it kills itself and I have to constantly spend money to fix it. I can't break free from this car because I can never save enough to replace this car.

I have a 99 Alero 3.4 V6 with about 180 kms on it. The anti lock ABS lights keep coming on randomly, then turn off, and moments later will turn on again... also the trac off light is on. Does anybody know what this could be?

OK, I HAVE A 99 Alero 2.4l coupe, just recently put in an aftermarket deck and aftermarket speakers, and now all of a sudden, when I try to start the car, it starts for a bit, but then dies and won't turn over until ten minutes later, and then does the same thing. Does anyone have any advice for me? Gotta fix, ASAP.
