Numerous electrical problems have plagued this car. Somewhere there is a lose ground wire and no one can find it.
The electric window motors all have died and been replaced.
The faulty electrical system causes the car to burn up alternators. The check engine light comes on without any apparent reason. Later is goes out.
This car is comfortable, always reliable, very fast for a non-V8 car, and has shown no signs of slowing down as it approaches the 200,000 mile mark. Both the engine and transmission are doing fine.
I can agree with this review, approaching 212,000 miles, it is still the first off the line when need be. But my windows died also.
I also have the same problem with the windows. the motor is fine, but somewhere in the wiring causes the motor not to roll back up. Otherwise this car is very reliable, very fast and comfortable. 135701 miles and the engine is still strong tranmission problems though.
My olds has the window problem with only the left rear window. that check engine light you were talking about could be a number of things, mine comes on sometimes because it runs too lean on bank one. go to and auto parts store and pick up a haynes manual, it will show you how to check that light. I have about 180,000 miles on mine.
