This car has in the past two years had the brakes replaced on a regular basis.
My last brake job lasted only 11,000 miles. The brakes went from okay to needing rotor repair in less than 1000 miles. My mechanic even had the regional representative from Pontiac come to the garage and view the problem. I have a new type of brake pad, but do not anticipate the brakes lasting any longer than the last set. I have the mechanic check each month.
Cost of brakes in the last year - over 1,000 dollars! I agree Pontiac is aware of this problem!
Pontiac Aztec has problems with the brakes.
Maybe you got a bad one, but typically brake issues are caused by your driving. Ease up a little on the road and I bet they'll last a lot longer.
I hardly think that someone that maintains a vehicle as well as the original reviewer appears to would drive like a maniac and then complain about having to constantly replace brakes. You shouldn't make a baseless assumption of this nature, and attempt to place the blame for a known problem with the Aztek on the original reviewer.
