I currently own a "83" Trans Am," 99" Fire-bird, and a "01" WS6 Ram Air Trans Am.The transmission was replaced in the "83",out of warranty. The "99" had numerous problems, alternator, brakes, and headlight motors, all replaced under warrenty. My "01" has been the crown and glory of problems. The motor rings were warrented because of oil consumption. The dealerships can't hear the piston slapping, or the clunking in the transmission, nor have they successfully fixed the water leaking around the windows, or the brakes that pull the car to the side when applied. Having the most beautiful cars in town definitely has been no advantage and I have definitely learned my lesson.

I don't believe any of you guys even own a ws6, mine is a 2000 model, 38K miles, no problems at all, LS1, 6-speed hurst, is very impressive to me! I love the car and it has given me nothing but joy. rob.

I agree. I own a 2001 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 with 44,000 miles and it has been totally stress free. the LS1 V8 is a very dependable engine... and I am confident that this car will see 200,000+ miles. I also own a Honda Accord, also a wonderfully reliable car.

I also own a 2001 ws6 best car in town. Never a problem at 28,000 miles. I would buy another one if I could. Gm should come out with a new TA. Matt.

I own a 99 ws6 with 140,000 miles on it. The only problem I've had was with the egr sensor @ 29,000 but only because I took it beyond 160M.P.H.

ANY car that is abused or constantly raced is going to break. You ever watch NASCAR races?? These cars are superb machines which will not let you down. Period! Show a little respect for the one of the last great American V8 cars we may see in our lifetime priced below $50,000 now that GM has pulled the GTO. It's Corvette or bust from here on out.

I just bought a 01 WS6 6 speed manual alpine white with camel interior. 119000 on the car and it's a blast to drive, can't wait for summer...
