I have a 94 grand am with 100,000 miles on it and the engine is great. It has a 3.1 SFI and there is nothing wrong. I think you just ran it to hard.

I Bought my Grand Am about a year ago with 80 k miles, within the first month I needed a new motor. Within the course of a year I got a new alternator, which I thought was a problem with the battery so a new battery also. There is a leak in heating core, which means I put anti-freeze into it about once a week. The horn is broke. Driver's side window is off track. Passenger's side seat doesn't adjust. Last inspection I got new breaks. Inspection, that cost me $300 for new brakes and rotors, was about 2 weeks ago. The current status, its parked on the side of the road, unable to be driven I was driving when I came to a stop and the car was shaking. I was only a minute away from the house, but the car lost all power, and would barely make it up a hill. I had a family known mechanic check it out, he gave it a tune up and checked the motor mounts, that wasn't the problem. I can't bring myself to take it to the shop and put anymore money into this car that is almost worthless. Also about a month ago I was driving when the vehicle starting shooting fuel from under the hood. Before that the brakes, literally just stopped working. For all the prices I've paid I could have invested my money in a more expensive reliable car.

Also, if your power looks aren't working check to see if the car lighter is jammed. I also I had a problem with my locks and when I took the lighter out, the locks worked.

Although I have one, and its got 200k, the only problem is power lock doors!Yes they are a problem, even when the fuses seem fine!
