1994 Pontiac Grand Am SE Quad 4 from North America

Summary:

The Pontiac Rules!

Faults:

The only thing that has gone wrong with my car is recently the air conditioning unit started loosing pressure. Come to find out the pump and the condenser need to be replaced.

General Comments:

The Pontiac Grand Am has been a wonderful car for me. It has a sporty look to it with the factory wing. Yet doesn't catch every cops eye.

The car is a silver with a purple shimmer. I've added a 250amp bass cannon and purple neon accent lights. So now my car goes boom and looks good too.

The interior is comfortable for both long and short length trips. With wrap around seats and full power seats it's a pleasure to drive without getting t.b.

If you have a chance to get a Grand Am with low mileage and it runs good snatch it up or someone else will.

1994 Pontiac Grand Am SE 3.1 from North America

Summary:

Best car I ever owned

Faults:

I have had no big problems with this car.The only thing that did go wrong with it was the torque converter lock out switch. This caused the car to not want to down shift when coming to a stop. The repair bill was only 150 dollars.

General Comments:

The car runs like a brand new one and has not let me down on a long trip. It still looks great no rust what so ever. No rattles from the dash, nothing.I would most definitely buy another one.

1994 Pontiac Grand Am SE 3.2 from North America

Summary:

We should have saved our money and leased a new car

Faults:

The brakes constantly wear out. I have had the coil tower go out on the highway on vacation. The alternator. The power steering pump. The fuel pump. The turn signal switch went bad. The heater core core blew. The rotors. the cam shaft seal. The head and gasket. The timing chain.

General Comments:

The car is the money pit.

We have put at least 500-1000 dollars per year in maintenance.

We have been sorry we bought this car from the sart.

I find it highly undependable, entirely aggravating, and impossibly costly to repair.

Whenever we go to a mechanic and tell him it's a quad four motor, we get the "oh you poor sucker" reaction.

I agree, the Grand Am is a money pit. I am currently driving one with the third engine in a few years. Between carbon buildup, the timing chain, and now the turn signal switch, I am sick to death of this car...

I have a 1994 Grand AM SE. I bought it used with 138,000 miles on it. I have since put on 3000 miles. I travel 45 minutes to school every morning and being 17 I don't treat it very well. I beat the hell out of it. Every morning it starts right up and sounds great. I have found my experience with my grand am to be quite the opposite. I enjoy its smooth right and reliability. The only problem I have had was with the power locks (which no longer work) but according to my mechanic it can be easily fixed. I'm sorry to hear about your experiences with the Grand Am I and hope you give it a second chance. The 98 - 03 models have many new improvements which offer an even smoother quiet ride with a great sporty look. Best of luck.

1994 Pontiac Grand Am SE Quad 4 from North America

Summary:

A show stopper deal

Faults:

I have had no problems with either of my Grand Am's.

General Comments:

I am in love with Pontiac products. I own both a 1993 and 1994 Pontiac Grand. Both have been outstanding that I am thinking about purchasing another one. Yes there are problems with the Quad 4 engine, but my experience has been that the sooner you have the problem checked out. The easier the problem is to correct and less expensive on your check book.
