I also have a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP special edition, but however in the morning it is rough to start it revs to 4000 rpm and then drops to 1000 rpm, but I have not been able to figure out the problem. If anyone has had the same problem and has been able to fix it, It would be very helpful if you could maybe give me and idea of what to look for to fix this problem. my email is email@example.com!!! thanks!!!

I have a 1995 GTP and mine idles the same way untill she warms up! I've done some research and everyone I talk to says its the intake gasket. Had it looked at and indeed the intake has a leak at the gasket. THis would explain why it quits doing it after warming up, the alluminum expands and shuts off the leak.
Hope that helps.
I can't find anything aftermarket for my car either.

Visit www.pfyc.com for all of your Grand Prix, Pontiac needs. They sell various under the hood, exterior & interior parts. Good place to visit. Especially if you would like to upgrade your car.

I have a 95 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP and I love it!!! My mom gave it to me when she got her new car. It handles great in the winter! My car has 169,000 miles on it and nothing big has gone wrong yet. This kind of worries me. I found a motor and transmission for it at a junk yard. They want $850 for a motor with 63,000 miles on it and only $250 for a transmission. The car will still lay you back into the seat though. I've found some after market things for it and I just found some headlight covers for it at auto-zone. The only thing I don't like about the car is that the brakes and the headlights are so expensive. The brake pads and rotor warranty just changed at auto zone fyi.

I just bought a '95 Pontiac Grand Prix SE Coupe. It needs a "little" bodywork. I need to find websites so that I can order parts ONLINE (specially body parts and accesories), as I am overseas (US Navy Europe). I already found Autozone, PartsAmerica, AutoPartsFair, AutoEtc1, and PFYC (which carries from the year 1997 forward only :- (... If anyone has more info, drop me a line (firstname.lastname@example.org), please. Thanks.

I have an 94 Grand Prix GTP bought it in 01 with 52,350 miles, and it has 72500 now.
I'm in a wheelchair and it is one bad puppy when ya put the gas to the floor. With V6's like this, there's no need for a V8, the 3.4 24valve is almost as good as the 77 GP with a 350, but the GP was a boat.
I have the same problem with the idle, but after it is warm it is no problem, and I have had a gasket put in and a water pump.
My bud has an 99, but I like this style. The only thing is I will have to let it go, it is getting way too hard to get in and out, and put my chair in and take it out, gonna be a Caravan Man now, and will miss the sport car spin.
At 13 it is just primed and everything still works great, except the armrest - it was open and I turned around and hit the top and it broke off, drop a line if you are looking email@example.com

We have just bought a 95 Grand Prix SE coupe for our daughter. She loves it, but the tranny occasionally goes into neutral when you come to a stop.
Any ideas on how to fix this problem? Is it the transmission or something else?
Thanks to anyone who can help.

Hi, I own a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix SE and theres just one thing that the car needs. I really don'y like the glass that replaces the grille in the front, I was wondering if there was a way that I could replace that with something different looking, If there is then what are my options. Thanks in advance.

I also have 1995 Grand Prix GTP with an idle problem. Had the PCM module replaced, O2 sensor, crankshaft sensor. It got to the point where it won't even run or start. At 160000 km an intake gasket was replaced at 82000 km. Need help.

I have a 1995 Pontiac grand prix special edition 2dr coupe, with the white appearance package. It has the 3.4 L DOHC V6. Is this the GTP? I've been trying to research my car but I can't really find much info on the net. I feel like my car is the GTP just doesn't have the letters on the back... Sorry I'm not very knowledgeable I just wanted to know what features the GTP has so I could tell if that's what I have. I really love my car. I bought it without realizing that it went through Katrina, so it needs lots of TLC, but I'm going to fix it up :)

I have a 1995 Grand Prix GTP. Started out with idle problem 1000 - 4000, then start sputter and shut off take about 2-6 tries to get it to run after new timing belt, intake gasket, O2 sensor, camshaft sensor, throttle body sensor, new plugs and numerous hours in the shop. 5000.00 later still hard to get going; floods when you first try to start it, and no one seems to know the problem. Need help.

I have a 1995 grand prix 4d sedan, and I love my car. It's up to 221,000 miles and still kicks butt. This is a great car to hang on to. My blinkers give me a tough time, and it's not the fuse. Also, my outside door handle on my passengers door finally broke, but this car still has quite the get-up-and-go.

Like everyone else, I just purchased a '95 Grand Prix 2 door. Also like everyone else, I love it. The only thing I don't like is that they started making after market parts for the new '97 body style. It's nearly impossible to find anything for this car for fine tuning. I wanted to replace the tail light cover just because I didn't like the black line pattern. I also wanted to know if any of you know where I could find a GTP engine. I tried the local junk yards and they have nothing. So any info would help.

I just bought a 95 Grand Prix GTP. I love the car; it's pretty fast. The only thing I don't like about it is it seems to only get 18mpg, but other than that, it's a great car.

We also have 95 Pontiac Grand Prix Sedans - two of them. We are also having problems with cold start, only occasionally after car has been sitting for 8+ hours - car sputters like flooded, smokes, will not idle. You have to keep pumping the gas pedal to keep it going. After a couple of minutes, RPMs come up and car is 'normal'. Doesn't happen always, but seems to be doing this more frequently. We've run gas through, thought at first it was 'bad gas'. Not weather related, has happened when it was garaged. Never happens (yet) when car is parked for short periods of time. Any thoughts?

Check your fuel pressure regulator. Pull the vacuum line off of the FPR. If gas comes out, it is bad. This happened to mine not too long ago.
