The back seat, on the left side, ripped and was worn down.
The key hole for the trunk was ripped out and now has to be opened with a screw driver.
The windshield is cracked and will be replaced soon.
New leather seat covers were put on awhile ago and are still brand new and in perfect condition.
All the numbers match.
I was wondering how many of these 4 door luxuries were made and other info about them. Such as how much, an offer or what they're worth, where would I get replacement parts, and how much and where I would get accessories for the car. Thank you for any information that anybody has, much is appreciated.
Interesting that you claim "all the numbers match" yet you don't know which engine or transmission is in it.
Which "numbers" are you referring to?
The numbers on the front license plate match the numbers on the back license plate!
I have a 72 luxury lemans 4dr blue... it was my grandpas and I have been slowly fixing it up... take good care of it... i have only heard of three so far that I know of...
Billy.
I own a 72 Lux. Lemans and have 2 doner cars left. Mine is a 2 dr. bks. seat 4 speed 350 Cnd. Did the resto. in 1986 in the original colored laquer paint. still looks good!
My father owns a 1972 4 door Pontiac luxury Lemans. They are pretty rare. He inherited it from his mom. Still got the window sticker in the glove box that shows a price of a whopping $4093.00.
Hey, my dad has a 1974 luxury Lemans 4 door 350 under the bonnet.
I heard there was only only two originals brought out in Australia, and everyone imported them.
They're still very rare, but now my dad found the second one crashed, and now he's using it for spare parts.
I have only found one other existing 1972 4 door Luxury Lemans and it is in a junk yard in Canada. I thought that out of the just over 8,000 produced, someone would have saved one.
Can anyone tell me what "Matching Numbers" does for the value?
Hello, I have a beautiful running, 4 door, 1972 Luxury Le Mans, here in Canada, It is a shinny red color and was repainted 3 years ago, It is in excellent condition. We inherited it, and found it in a garage. I would like to sell it, but I cannot find any like this for sale, so have no idea at all what it should sell for, Does anyone know, thanks for any help or suggestions.
You posted this same question in the other 1972 LeMans review, and it was already answered there.
I have a 1972 luxury LeMans 2 door, and I'm looking for a battery tray. The only one I can find on ebay is for mounting on the drivers side, mine is mounted on the passengers side.
This is a Canadian car. Anyone out there that might know a source? Thanks.
In response to the comment from the 72 Lux Lemans owner needing a battery tray - I, too own a 72 Lux Lemans 2 dr Cnd built. I bought my car with low miles in unaltered condition. My car has a 400 - the battery is on the driver's side of the car. I thought only 6 cylinder cars had passenger side batteries... so it's puzzling that your battery is on the opposite side: the Lux Lemans only came with V8s. Anyways, I replaced my battery tray with a reproduction part from a vendor at a car show for about $30.00. If you google "GM reproduction parts" you should be able to locate a vendor near you.
Also in response to the battery tray issue. I have a 72 Canadian built Luxury LeMans with a Chev small block 350 original motor. The battery tray is on the passenger side and I have also been unsuccessful trying to locate a new or aftermarket tray. I have purchased trays for "72" LeMans from Year One, and it is the exact stamping but for the drivers side. American made cars had the blue 350 engine with the tray on the drivers side. Any advice on where to find one would be much appreciated?
