1993 Porsche 968 Coupe from North America - Comments

"An exceptional deal with exceptional qualities"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Rear window wiper not operational (when purchased)

Left head light goes up 7/8th of the way (when purchased)

It doesn't have the sound like a Ferrari has.

Everything else is vault solid.

General comments?

This car is a 1993 968 coupe. It is a bright red with tan leather leather/carpets with black dash. A beautiful color combination (my favorite)

The car is rare as only 2417 coupes were imported to the US during its 4 year run.

The steering response and cornering ability is still one of the best around of all time. My previous 944 was just about as good.

The 3.0 liter 4 cylinder engine sounds just like a V8 on start up (very similar to my old 928S).

The body style really stands out and a lot of people tell me how nice the car looks. (in the neighborhood, at gas stations, in parking lots, and even on the road, ect.)

I would recommend anyone who is an enthusiast to buy one or a 944. They are terrific cars that bring a smile to your face when you drive or even wash them.

It is a true sports car so don't expect a supple ride, you will feel every crack on the pavement (but that's a good thing!)

Having owned 3 944s and now a 968 coupe I would say that the handling of the 968 is far superior

If you want a nice noise get a stainless steel Hayward and Scott exhaust and an induction kit from Essential Styling.

The results are very impressive both in the quality of the engine noise and the improvement in the performance.

P Bann.

"It doesn't have the sound like a Ferrari has."

There is reasoning for that: It's a 4 cylinder... not a 12.

I have a 94 968 and the handling is practically identical to my previous 88 951 S,, I.E. perfect. The 968 is one of the most under-appreciated cars on the planet,,,, makes a Boxster S look like a Pinto.
