2002 Porsche Boxster review from North America
"Fantastic balanced goes where pointed"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing.
General comments?
This vehicle is everything a Porsche should be.
Acceleration smooth and constant - no 'weak' spots in the engine's range.
I've only put about 350 miles on the car but have ad the top down and this vehicle attracts attention! Alot of people stare as I go buy and the kids on my son's school bus all gave me the thumbs up when it dropped him off.
Acceleration is flawless - there is no weak spots in the engines range and I've consistently done 0-60 in less than 7 seconds [no stop watch so no exactly numbers but this is without really trying to get the numbers better.]
This was a base Boxster S - called a 'port car' by my dealer. [spent a lot of time sitting unsold at CHS] Was a 2002 - not sold til Jan 2003 - NO options - a base level car with 17" 2004 wheels and Michelin tires. Exactly what I was looking for - I don't need traction control or big computers displaying oil level and my McDonalds order, nor did I need auto headlights or heated seats or anything fancy - the car handles and accelerates the same as car with $40000 in options and certainly looks the same - yet I paid $28k for a Boxster with 2 YEARS left on the warranty and only 12975 miles at delivery. A BARGAIN and a Porsche, all at the same time!
