As with any car, mechanical health is very important. A car does need to be driven in order for the parts to be lubricated, etc.. But for a Rolls Royce to be Overdriven is sick. I have 49,000 on my 81 Spirit, and 278,000 on my S-class diesel. I know which one to "Overkill" with driving.

I personally purchased a 1988 Jaguar XJ6 in 2000 when I was in high school, with 260,000 miles. I have no doubt this car would still be on the road if it hadn't been totaled a year later. You guy's comments are why the Asian marques were able to crush these great/illustrious marques and force them into the hands of the German's and India!

This is a used car readily available for 10 grand or less. A new one is one for people with tons of cash.

Your Jaguar might have been reliable, but that doesn't indicate the brand overall is reliable. I'm sure there's a few Yugos that miraculously made it to 200,000 miles too.

Overall British automotive brands have been notoriously unreliable. And while German brands are not exactly known to be super reliable either, they're more so than the British brands. And given that you can buy a Lexus or Acura that has just as many luxury features, performance and so on, and go for 100's of thousands of miles without a hiccup, therein lies the reason why the likes of Jaguar lost so many customers.

This German manufacturer is. In 2017, the J.D. Dependability Study named Porsche as one of the most reliable luxury vehicle manufacturers in the world. In fact, they were given a 5 out of 5 score for overall dependability So I bought a new 911 Twin Turbo Wide Body Carrera. I came from Acura’s and Audi’s. I have changed the oil twice at $500 a pop at the current 2000 miles. Just to get the original oil all replaced.
