1994 Rover - Austin 200 218SD review from UK and Ireland
"Average, Average, Average - but cheap to run"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Just had to have the belts changed and a tensioner kit, but this is not really a problem - just has to be done!
Had to have the fuel pump refurbished due to a slight leak (£80)
New front disc's - again just due to wear, not a fault.
General comments?
Jesus! does this car do MPG!
Around town and general messing about (max run about 5 miles) the car does 45 to the gallon.
Not fast, but pulls quite reasonably at town speeds - just a bit slow 50+
The car looks as average as it could get - same goes for the interior.
Build quality is excellent, even after 174000 miles there are no interior squeaks or rattles which I think is quite impressive.
Does its job - and does it well.
