2005 SAAB 9-3 Linear 2.0T from North America

Summary:

Love does comes on four wheels

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with this car.

General Comments:

I love this car SO much. I traded in my 2003 530i because of all the wonderful things I had heard about this car. Also my Bimmer's tranny was starting to give me issues. If you have ever had to replace a transmission, you know it takes huge chunk out of your bank account.

My father, who is a lawyer, owns a 2004 9-3 and loves it. I have had the car for 2 months and love it. It's the most rewarding driving experience I have ever had. Other people are always commenting on the car when I take them to lunch from the office. I kick myself in the pants for not buying a Saab in the first place!

For anyone about to buy a new car, I seriously recommend spending the extra money and getting a Saab 9-3.

If your "Bimmer" was an 03 like you say then the faulty tranny would be covered under warranty, and therefore cost you nothing.

It would not be covered under warranty if the subject car had exceeded the warranty's mileage limit.

Well if your dad the lawyer loves it I must buy!

2005 SAAB 9-3 VECTOR SPORT 1.9 TID 120 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Looks amazing, handles well, delivers your driving expectations, but... feels cheap, quality lacking

Faults:

Drivers seat has "Sagged" already and developed a frustrating squeak!

(and I am not a heavy person)

Rattles from the Dashboard area.

General Comments:

This car is only three Months old.

I truly am impressed with this cars looks, overall performance, levels of comfort and driver appeal, but this is where the praise stops!

The build quality is well below par, plastics used on the dash look and feel cheap, a new rattle appears from behind the dash every Week and road/wind noise are both excessive and intrusive for a car in this league and price.

The sound quality, even from the seven speaker upgrade on this model is dreadful, almost pathetic.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

I was about to type a review, only to find the comments above reflect my own opinions!

Come on Saab, address these minor issues and make the 9-3 the car it deserves to be.

The Audio System is terrible. No depth to bass, muffled sound at volume. £20+ k for this car and fitted with what appears to be a early '80's Amstrad... at best!!
