2002 Saturn SL 2 from North America - Comments

"Built like a go-kart and handles similar."

What things have gone wrong with the car?

When I first bought the car it ran perfectly. About three weeks later the transmission started shifting hard. The dealer replaced the transmission for free because I bought the extended warranty.

General comments?

The car is so small it reminds me of a go-kart and handles similar.

I didn't want this car at first, but now I want my next car to be a Saturn.

I agree, I also feel as if I am driving a go-kart! I stand 5'7", which I believe is average - but this car is definetely made for a smaller person. Sitting in the driver seat, I feel like I am sitting directly on the pavement! I have constant issues because my dress pants hang into the water or dirt that accumulates on the floor and I can't get out of the car conservatively wearing a skirt.

Please consider these concerns if you have a professional job and dress accordingly - This car would have been perfect for me in college, but not now. Has been reliable and economical. Good buy, and it has maintained a decent blue book value since I purchased it used in 2004.

They didn't have a 2.2 engine, they had a 1.9 engine.
