Thank you. I don't even know how some of the stuff goes wrong - gas leaks, the broken glove box (and all the other locks work), the dinging - I can't stand it. I have two more payments to make and then I am trading.

My parents had a 1991 LeMans that had a constant front axle issue. It kept splitting. The engineers at GM should have known enough to balance out a car to keep this from happening, and the same with the VUE.

I will not be buying a GM again. Thanks again.

ORIGINAL REVIEWER HERE.

Now my Vue has 39,000 miles on it. Let's add some problems to the list:

1- Right taillight lens came off.

2- Moisture buildup in left headlight.

3- Another set of springs all around.

4- The rear-left seat belt does not unlatch.

5- The glove box completely broke- again.

I wanted to trade the car but it will screw over my credit- oh well.

Wow, our family was going to buy one to be a tow vehicle for behind our RV... That's not happening anymore! Thanks for all the time you put into this review!

Original poster here.

Good; I'm glad. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. It also has some new squeaks and rattles, not to mention the following:

1- The speedometer is now completely dead

2- The odometer still reads 35422

3- The gas gauge is always on full.

This has been a wonderful vehicle and I love waking up to drive it everyday.

I wish I read this string 6 years ago. We just got word from our mechanic that our engine needs to be replaced for the second time. We replaced our first engine after the timing belt went on it at about 110K miles. The odometer broke at about 128K miles, but if I had to guess it has about 145K on it now and the engine died...again.

Among a comparable list of other things that have gone wrong with this car, I don't think it makes sense to fix it again. Off to the junk yard!!!

I have a 2006 VUE AWD V6. I just passed 40,000 miles last month and have not experienced anywhere near the issues you have. I did have the right front axle and the stereo replaced under warranty. I do have multiple little squeaks and rattles emitting from various points around the cabin, but otherwise, my VUE has been a good vehicle.

I just replaced the factory tires with Kumho Solus KR21's after doing some research on tirerack.com. These are much quieter than the factory tires and handle the snow much better as well. (We got 4 inches over the last few days.)

I, too, and disappointed with the quality from GM. I purchased a Honda Odyssey a few months prior to my VUE, and the only thing that has gone wrong with it (also over 40K miles) was the light bulb for the third brake light. No squeaks or rattles. It is as solid as the day I bought it.

I own a 2003 VUE AWD. Today I found out that I need a new water pump and timing belt. Cost from an independent mechanic... $640 plus tax. This car has 74,000+ miles. This represents the typical service life of an American vehicle. You get what you pay for.

GM isn't the issue. I have owned many different GM vehicles over the years, and the only one that was this unreliable was the Saturn Vue. Wasn't Saturn discontinued?

"67-... a bad head-on collision..."

Could explain a few things.

Can you clarify?
