1999 Subaru Impreza Turbo 2000 2.0 turbo petrol from UK and Ireland

Faults:

Had an accident 3 days after buying the car :( . This car attracts bad attention from boy racers and dangerous company car drivers. Some drivers will try anything to take the Subaru on.

Engine cylinder head had to be replaced because of a loose nut in one of the valves :( . Difficult to say whether this was a manufacturing fault or a result of the above accident.

The car does rattle a little.

General Comments:

Performance and driveability are out of this world :) . No car competes with the Subaru on price.

The interior has been improved on this '99 model, but it is still cheap plastic. Otherwise this is a superb car.

51 years of age, that is me, just got my hands on a 1999 model. 2.0 turbo. Claimed 254 BHP goes like stink. I am impressed with it.

1999 Subaru Impreza 22B STI 2.2 intercooled turbo petrol from UK and Ireland

Faults:

Nothing, as it has just been imported from Japan.

General Comments:

This car has amazing 0-60 and top end is amazing.

I am very lucky to have this as I have inherited some money.

Looks great and is now 450 bhp.

How fast.

My dad has got a Subaru Impreza 22b, and it has 458bhp and gets to sixty in 3.9/4.2 seconds. It does 167mph which is fast considering how fast it goes through the gears, and it has 19 inch split rim BBS wheels on it.

1999 Subaru Impreza Turbo 2000 2.0 turbo petrol from UK and Ireland

Faults:

Long waiting list; general public know too much.

Highly prized amongst car thieves.

Subaru refuse to import WRX/STI models.

General Comments:

Useful MY99 enhancements include extra 7 bhp, torque unchanged, Thatcham cat 1 alarm, STI rear spoiler, STI front brakes, ventilated rear discs, stiffer suspension, multi reflector headlights, redesigned front spoiler.

More lowdown torque is nice. Acceleration is sometimes scary.

5-door model very discrete.

1999 Subaru Impreza WRX 4x4 Turbo 2.0 turbo petrol from UK and Ireland

Faults:

Nothing yet.

General Comments:

Very impressed with it and it goes very fast. I have added uprated injectors and stage 1 turbo and TSW Venoms [alloys]. Also there is a roll cage, 6-speed gearbox and new front splitter. Top speed - 170mph / 0-60 - 4.1secs.

Why oh why would you put Venoms on a Scooby??? The Speedlines look much better.

I agree, the Venoms are a particularly ugly wheel. I should go back to the Speedlines, or maybe even try a set of TSW Imola's, very sexy wheels on the Scooby!

How much was a six speed box? My 1999 STi5 Type R 2 door would very much enjoy one of those!

Cheers.

How much more did you pay in insurance for the roll-cage?
