1987 Toyota Corolla GT from UK and Ireland - Comments

Got a AE92R model Toyota twin cam 16V (4A-GE) - only 100 000 km on clock. Any one have some good comments on this car? Why does it not have Tvis? To the guy looking for an "R" model, make me an offer...

I think corolla gt twincams are fat cars I go to dewsbury.

I thought they were kinda narrow myself. Now a Hummer, THAT's FAT!!!

I own a white E plt gt (AE82) showing 108000.I has a full Janspeed, JR filter,16 inch alloys and a PSE Power boost valve!I've gone through xr2's, xr4x4's and the like, but this thing is amazing!seen 122 on the clock and still pulling!It has to be the ultimate cheap fast car!buy one before they all go!!

I have 1992 crolla gti, with a 4age 16v 100kw, engine.

I must admit that its 100kw of power is pretty disapointing, I love every other aspect of the car, eg: handling of a go-cart, probably the best looking rolla ever made. Although I must admit, that it can rev to 7700rpm, and that's pretty decent for a stock engine, and if you were to make the engine stronger internaly with better engine parts, you could add a performance chip/computer and you could get the old girl reving to 8200 rpm, and that aint to shabby.

Other mods to my rolla include:

stainless steal cold air induction kit, genie extractors,2.5 sports exhaust exiting a 4inch chrome madrel bent exhuast tip, internal engine mods, lightned flywheel, brass button clutch, 17inch chromies, full custom interior, racing seats, momo stearing wheel and gear knob, big stero, tinted windows, viper alarm system and a full jet speed body kit.

So yeh it rocks my world, so basicly theres no other front wheel drive I would rather buy, so I strongly recommend it to anyone. (OK I might buy a hond intergra if I had the bling bling.)

I have a corolla 1.8 gxi it has a k&n air filter, full d-catted stainless steel exhaust, lowered 40mm, 17 inch alloys, shock absorbers.

I have raced many corolla gt/gti and beat them.

I have had my corolla dynod at 0 - 60 7.0 sec - 0 - 100 15.5 seconds. 137 bhp

so overall I would say the corolla gxi's are better

come to birmingham race tracks saturday and sunday and see for yourself.

I have owned corollas gt for the past 11 years

never have I driven a car that put a bigger smile on my face

not the fastest cat, but I can forgive any problems they have

I just bought a GTi AE92, its the non t-vis high torque model, was wondering does anyone have any 2nd hand performance bits?? by the way I'm in Ireland.

What's quicker, the CRX vtec or the Corolla GTi? Have you raced any CRX's?

I am from Africa, Uganda to be specific, and have an AE92 Gti-16 with T-Vis. My Dad bought her brand new in 1987 and she's a beast, BUT there is someone who thought recent FX parts could work with it, and has now messed up the coil, distributor and exhaust system.

Am desperately looking for parts to replace the coil and distributor, plus the cables because it is sitting at home, and it just hurts me every morning. If any of you guys knows where I can get the parts, please help. It's the only one in the country, the rest are weak FX versions. So I have searched, trust me.

Please help coz she's going to die.
