1998 Vauxhall Corsa GLS review from UK and Ireland
What things have gone wrong with the car?
New headlamp due to water ingress at 2,000 miles (warranty)
New water pumps at 12,000 miles and 18,000 miles (warranty)
Engine coolant leaks at 28,000 (warranty) and 32,000 miles (£60)
Blown cylinder head gasket at 32,000 miles (£450)
Poor starting and "engine fault light"especially in warm humid weather.
General comments?
I am glad I took out a 4 year warranty. Unfortunately it had expired when the head gasket blew.
The car has been treated gently and covered less than 7,000 m per year.
When it works the engine is lively! The handling is mediocre.
