1999 Vauxhall Zafira Elegance from UK and Ireland - Comments

We have a 3 year old Zafira 1.9 TDI.

Yesterday it was completely dead with no warning, no battery light on. Had a mechanic have a quick look, jump started, but while the engine was running, all power was lost to dials and internal lights, but the engine continued to run, no charge going to the battery, he thinks it is the alternator. Car has 16k miles on it and we wonder if this is normal for a 3 year old car /common fault?

I rang Network Q where we bought it from, only to find our 3 yr manufacturer warranty was up in July! Great! I have also emailed Vauxhall about this. We have a mechanic coming to do a diagnostic on it later.

Other problems were juddering when driving, but other than that, no warning lights on or anything. I am seriously worried about driving this car from what I have read on here now with 4 kids in it.
