"I have never had such an unreliable car in my life. If your looking for a long headache buy VW!!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The Anti-braking system and wheel stabilizers would occasionally fail from the first week of owning the car.

The diesel pump failed after 10000km.

The dash computer system kept failing giving false or misleading information.

The Anti-braking system stopped working at 12000 km.

The dash computer had to be reset almost every month because the dealership could not find a problem.

The computer failed after at 13000km and had to be replaced.

The CD player started to malfunction and had to be replaced 13000km.

The electric windows and doors on the rear passenger side stopped working at 25000km.

The dash computer started to give problems continuously and the dealersahip still can't find the problem.

The left rear signal lights stopped working after 42000km. They had been replaced a week before!

Plastic started pealing at about 30000km.

General comments?

The car is comfortable and has a very good driving feel when it is not in the dealership garage!

We have been in the dealership almost every month.

When confronted with these serious manufacturing malfunctions and the agrivation of going to the dealership almost every month. All that VW offered was to take the car for 50% of its value and give us a trade-in for full value.

Thank-You Volkswagon for your sympathy and service!

I do not trust him! It is too much. This man never had a Passat car. I have two same cars and there is no one described symptom after about 80.000 km.

I am sorry to say, but I still have the 2002 passat. It is a very good car and enjoyable to drive, however, I still find its reliability very questionable. Recently I had to change two parts on the turbo (rubber tubes) and the ball bearings on both front steering columns had to be changed at 80 000km because of unusual sounds when turning. The rear door and window behind the driver still do not work after the dealer had tried to fix it last year. I didn't go back anymore because I coud'n

n't handle being in the dealership anymore. I rather do it manually even though the window is unusable. Anyways, it is not just that I want to criticize VW, rather just to warn other buyers!
