I used to have an a 84 Nissan pickup reg cab, when I got it had the cream paint and body was rotted to the ground, but it ran great even with a blown head gasket, I totally restored the body and fixed the head gasket. Finding body parts for the bed of that truck was extremely hard, I pretty much made the panels for the bed, when I was done with it, it looked awesome though, it had a 3in lift on it, chrome roll-bar and brush guard, I put a header on it, it did good for being as old as it was on all of the original drive-train, when I sold it, it had 210,000 miles on it, and I still see it running around to this day, those trucks really were built to last.

I recently purchased a 1984 Nissan King Cab with a blown head gasket for a $1000, and it only has minor surface rust. Z24 engine. Was running, but poorly... Me and my dad are rebuilding part of the engine and are almost done with it... So far it seems like a strong truck though especially with 280,000 miles LOL the cylinder heads and walls are perfect! This will be my daily driver while I build my fully custom Jeep. Part aren't too expensive except replacing the entire head cam etc...

I have just inherited my grandfathers 82 Nissan Datsun truck with only 70,000 miles on it. She ran like new, but when he died, it sat around for too long and now needs some repairs. I'm working on all of these things myself, and was wondering if anyone knew where I could get some replacement OEM interior components such as the console? Please email me at vinniecol@gmail.com Thank you very much.

Hello.

I work at the Nissan plant in Smyrna, TN. There are a lot of old Nissan trucks around here (have made them here since the '84 MY) that are not rusted out, due to the mild winters. I would monitor Craigslist Nashville as well as search the web for salvage yards in Rutherford County, TN for parts. If you use a common carrier and can wait a week or two, shipping shouldn't be too bad.

Courtesy Nissan Parts in Texas has a lot of old vehicle parts on their web site, though I haven't tried looking for 80s trucks. They are not cheap, but offer good quality parts. Yahoo forums also has an old Datsun/Nissan trucks forum with a good membership base.

I bought my 84 King Cab 4x4 in Nov.1983. 315000 miles/ three trannies later it still runs well. I get 23 miles to the gallon, but I do have to run super. I just replaced the original alt. two months ago. Rust is not a problems in the high desert of California. My main issue is the seats. Both have broken down and I need to get some after market seats in the near future. I'd rather get original, but can't find any good ones. I still use it for dailey driver.

I have a 1984 Nissan 4X4 King Cab and the bed is rusted out. Where do I find one? This pick up is a one owner, runs perfect, and only has 124,232 miles on it. info@biketote.com

I have a 1984 Nissan king cab diesel it has 227000 kilometers on it. the transmission blew and I have removed it and the clutch. I am looking for another 5 speed. I am also wondering if there was an automatic made for these trucks. I have had this truck for about 11 years. the truck has a new paint job, pueter metallic with charcoal trim.

I bought an 84 Nissan p/u recently, that seems to be a nickel and dimer, by looking at the repair history. The truck has a great feel to it, but I have a problem with the idle. One day it just started at high idle and stayed. It has been messed with ad nauseum... hoses checked, choke checked, nothing seemed out of place. Then it quit. I could pour gas down the carb and start it, but that's all. I naturally checked fuel filters, then assumed it was the electronic fuel filter. A mechanic looked at it and said it is the relay that sits under the dash on the passenger side. Can this be the entire problem - the high idle as well as the quitting? I haven't got a relay yet, so I don't know anything as of now.

I have a 1984 Datsun king cab 4x4 for sale. It still runs and has many good parts. I drove it for a year and it has 155K original miles on it. Engine and 4 speed transmission are well used and the top speed is 45 mph due to vibration in transmission and lack of power. Rust has been fixed. 4x4 works. 14 MPG at present condition. New tires. Entire truck is painted with black bed liner paint. It is in Polk Co. North Carolina. E-mail me at ussick@yahoo.com if interested and use Datsun for the tag line on the E-mail or I will not open it.

I just bought mine a couple days ago on ebay for 750. I had one when I was in high school ran great, so great that it ran itself into the back of a new tundra, I guess I helped a little. decided to buy a new one, found out when I got it home it had a blown head gasket. anyone know of a fix to this problem or just bite the bullet and change it every 2 years?

I came across a 1984 King Cab. Old guy had it, kept it in the garage. Only had 33000 miles on it when I bought it. I have had it about 1.5 years. Just turned over 39000. It's all original, (ugly) brown, seats are perfect. The body has some primer on it around the bed rail. Only complaint it has no power steering. Had to add the c/d. One other small thing, won't hardly get out of its own way. I have a 14 year old and I think we are going to make it a project truck, paint, maybe some wheels.
